Love the imagery of “one another” ministry happening in the ordinary moments, walking through the foyer or sitting beside one another.
We’re not simply attending church together. We’re learning to care for one another as we anticipate what we will enjoy forever one day.
What makes the local church the natural home for biblical counseling?
Listen to our latest podcast episode, "Care & Counsel Are Pastoral & at Home in the Church," as Ed Welch, Gunner Gundersen, and Jonathan Holmes continue CCEF's series on our seven distinctives by exploring our sixth distinctive. Find it wherever you listen to podcasts or at https://t.co/KQQC7DOLAl.

"God is committed to his people. The Lord is on the scene, and he’s not going to abandon your counselee. As a counselor, you get to come along for the ride as a faithful co-traveler." —Lauren Whitman
In this fifth episode of our series exploring CCEF's seven distinctives, CCEF faculty discuss what we mean when we say, "Help and change follow a path, but not a script." Together they explore the importance of dependence on the Lord and his work in the lives of those we help. Rather than fixing problems or changing others, our role is to be fellow travelers on the path God is already leading them on.

"Interpersonal ministry only enriches my experience of Scripture as I see its power in people's lives." —Gunner Gundersen
God’s Word does more than provide answers—it shapes the way we listen, care, pray, discern, and walk alongside others. Listen to our latest podcast episode, "Scripture Comes from the Mouth of God," as Gunner Gundersen, Jonathan Holmes, and Aaron Sironi explore how Scripture forms our priorities in counseling, helps us understand people, and serves as the lens through which we interpret both life and the world around us.
The conversation also considers the richness of Scripture’s many genres—from the Psalms and Wisdom Literature to the Gospels and Song of Songs—and how each uniquely equips us to care for others. Along the way, they reflect on parenting, marriage counseling, personal devotional life, and the indispensable role of Scripture in the life of the local church.

I just heard that Mitch Barnhart is retiring. I wanted to say even though Mitch and I didn’t always see eye to eye he did a good job and I wish he and Connie well in retirement.
Come to earth to taste our sadness,
He whose glories knew no end.
By His life He brings us gladness,
Our redeemer, Shepherd, Friend.
Leaving riches without number,
Born within a cattle stall;
This the everlasting wonder,
Christ was born the Lord of all.
@JoeGoodberry Duke in the spring: “Paying more for the same team doesn’t make sense. We have other priorities, and I want to make sure we address them.”
Me:
@FOX19Joe Love the intensity and encouragement here. However, the reason that escalator is blank is because it breaks down. One of the two leading up to 346 breaks down almost every home game.
