That's really good: I know die Zauberflöte since about 50 years, and I can tell that she is better than some grown up professional singers.

Now, a little objection: she is too young, this aria is not supposed to be "angelic": the Queen of the Night is a dark character, she is furious, and that should be felt in the "color" of the voice.

Yes, this is well-explained: it is about a gradient of refractive index of the air, due to a gradient of temperature, which under very specific conditions can bend light-rays and make us believe that a hidden object is on the horizon, while it should be hidden.
Sometimes the distant object can even be seen floating in mid-air...

Okay, here's one of the best "arguments" of flat-Earthers. It's hard to refute: even people with some scientific knowledge might struggle to explain it.

Do you know what a mirage is? These photos are an example.

You need to understand what refraction is, how the refractive index of air can vary with temperature, and how this phenomenon can literally bend light rays so they follow the curvature of the Earth, allowing you to see objects that should be below the horizon.

BUT BEWARE; this requires very specific conditions. You can't take these kinds of photos at just any time.

The Great Leap Forward caused a massive famine (estimates range from 20 to 45 million deaths).
It was an unprecedented economic and humanitarian disaster.
In 1962, at the Conference of the 7,000 Cadres, party leaders implicitly criticized Mao. Liu Shaoqi (then President of the Republic and designated successor) and Deng Xiaoping (Party General Secretary) took over day-to-day control.
They introduced pragmatic reforms (material incentives, small private plots, etc.) to fix the economy.
Mao was pushed aside on economic policy. He kept the title of CCP Chairman but lost real decision-making power.
He felt humiliated and feared that Liu and Deng would become “Chinese Khrushchevs” (i.e., revisionists who would betray the revolution).

In short: yes, Mao organized the Cultural Revolution to get rid of his former comrades (Liu Shaoqi, Deng Xiaoping, Peng Zhen, etc.) who had pushed him aside after the Great Leap disaster.
He used ideology (“class struggle,” “permanent revolution”) as both cover and weapon to mobilize the masses against the Party machine.
The human cost was horrific (estimates of deaths range from 500,000 to 2 million, plus millions more persecuted). Mao won the power battle… but China emerged ruined and traumatized.
After his death in 1976, Deng Xiaoping (one of his main enemies) returned to power and launched the reforms that transformed China.

So millions of deaths just to satisfy the ego of an incompetent leader. Mao was maybe worse than Hitler. At least he killed more people.
