I’m confident Sunset voters will reject this recall. I hear from many residents who appreciate having a supervisor who shows up and delivers. I will campaign hard every day and continue to show up for District 4 so I can serve my community for my full term.
I’ve always been District 4’s champion in City Hall, working to solve real problems in our neighborhood: from increasing public safety and supporting small businesses, to improving traffic flow and filling potholes. I’ve also worked with community partners to bring new life to our neighborhoods and merchant corridors. Our popular Sunset Night Market proved what was possible.
I’ve knocked on more than 1,000 doors in recent months, visited every small business in the Sunset, and met with constituents at community meetings and neighborhood social events. In the coming months, I’ll be laser-focused on this work, doing everything I can to engage with and listen to my constituents so I can continue to make positive changes at City Hall.
Change is hard, and even more so when climate change is forcing our hand. I understand that Sunset Dunes represents a tough change for some in our community, but early data is clear: the park is supporting the rehabilitation of the coastal dunes, it’s bringing new customers to local businesses, and it’s providing a popular space for generations of people to enjoy walking, biking, and nature.
I also understand the concerns people have, which is why I’m talking to residents and working with SFMTA to further improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety. I know some people felt left out of the process that led to putting the park on the ballot. I’m committed to doing more outreach, having more conversations, and making sure everyone’s voice is part of the work moving forward. I’m encouraged that since the park opened, I've been hearing from many members of the community who initially opposed it, but are now happy to have this new beautiful space to enjoy the coast.
When I helped put Prop K on the ballot, I knew that I had passionate constituents on both sides of the issue. The ballot measure gave them – and our city – a chance to have a say over the future of our coast. After much public debate, the voters elected to open the park. Attempting to recall me in response will do nothing to reopen the Great Highway.
I’m deeply grateful for all the support I’ve received from the many thousands of District 4 residents who are standing with me. It’s been the honor of a lifetime to be your supervisor, and I will continue to fight for District 4 and make the case every single day that I am the best person to represent you in City Hall.

It is sad to see someone that has accomplished as much as you did @SHAQ both in sport and business still be triggered by another man’s finances and accomplishments. I get the entertainment part but unlike other folks, you don’t need that stuff to stay relevant.
Dear Mike Dunleavy, I don’t give a fuck about our future. I would go through another 20 seasons of losing to give this man whatever we can to have a realistic shot at another one. From, a loyal season ticket holder.
The Warriors have no intentions of seeing Steph Curry wear another jersey to finish his career, per @BrettSiegelNBA.
“The organization is prepared to do what it takes to remain competitive nearing the end of the legendary guard's career, yet they are still keeping an open mind when it comes to their long-term approach.”
