"This doesn't even feel like the big leagues."
This was my reaction to seeing Busch Stadium nearly empty last night...
I took this photo a few minutes before the St. Louis Cardinals took the field.
This is a franchise with:
Brand Power
Rich History
Loyal Fanbase
Yet, Busch Stadium these days looks nothing like it used to.
That brand power has faded.
That rich history feels more like old-time stories.
That loyal fanbase is waiting for ownership to step up.
You see those empty red seats?
A decade ago, you would see the same "sea of red," but fans would be cheering, not empty red chairs.
It is a lesson in brand and staying power.
Brand is built over time.
Yet without delivering a great product ~ Brand quickly fades.
It made me remember a line we always preached in pro sports ~ "You are either getting better or worse, there is no staying the same."
For a city I grew up in, a team I grew up cheering for, and a place with a lot of memories ~ My hope is that Cardinals' ownership steps up to bring Busch back to what it used to be.
OK guys, we’ve had a good run but we know when we’re beaten. We held onto the title for 4 years, 4 months, and 20 days, but JD Vance & the Pituffik USAF base are now worthy holders of the saddest, most pathetic, cringiest press conference of all time
One of the most criminally under-told stories in 🇺🇸 sports history is the USFL.
It was a spring football alternative to the NFL in the 1980s, it was growing, and it had a lot of potential.
Then one owner ruined the whole thing. His name was Donald Trump. Here's the story. 1/13
STOP IT! The mainstream media is now spinning this as a shouting match, when the only two people who were raising their voices were Trump and Vance. Trump totally lost his cool. Never in history have we seen an American president behave like this. Trump is a national disgrace.
That Zelensky/Trump Oval presser was one of the most shameful things I've ever seen from a sitting president. It's one of Trump's worst moments for sure.
Absolutely disgraceful. I'm so fucking embarrassed for my country right now.
There has never been anything like this. Trump and Vance look like children talking about accommodating Putin. Zelensky holds his ground and defends his nation… and the free world.
President @realDonaldTrump signed #USMCA into law on January 29, 2020—"a colossal victory for our farmers, ranchers, energy workers, factory workers, and American workers in all 50 states."
There is much more at play here than we are seeing. We have to understand the second and third order effects here and not just accept the excuses. When you add it all up the answer is ugly. A long read but I try to touch on my major concerns. (2/2) https://t.co/EqGNDkvBPl
The Trump administration is planning a new strategy for fighting bird flu that stresses vaccinations and tighter biosecurity instead of killing off millions of chickens when the disease strikes a flock. 🐓

The folks on Fox News didn't seem to know what USAID does. PBS spoke with Andrew Natsios, a former USAID Admin. under GW Bush. Natsios, a conservative Republican, described the agency as pro-business and a useful tool for any president regardless of party.
