Adia Barnes on Dave Heeke:
"I love Dave. He was a great leader. I followed him. He's someone who gave myself, my family a tremendous opportunity. I know he didn’t hire me, but he supported me from Day One."
"He's the one who's always believed in me. He would come to all my games, him or Liz, and sit courtside. And sometimes when he couldn't make a game, he would text me. I’d be like, ‘You don't need to text me. It's OK.’ I don't really pay attention to that. But he supported me and believed in me, and I believed in him.
"No one understands what these jobs entail. We have the best ADs on Twitter. We have the best coaches on Twitter. It's really easy to tweet about what you would do. And there's like the reality of what we do every day that no one understands until you're in it. I didn't even understand until I was a head coach. As an assistant coach, you don't even understand what is to be a head coach. And so there's so many factors and so many people's lives you influence, and I think he did a good job here. And I think that there's so many things that are out of your control as an AD and a coach, and I think people don't realize that. I will maintain a relationship with him, and I love him as family."
