A 92-year-old Southgate woman lost nearly everything in a devastating apartment fire last October — including a treasured letter from former President Barack Obama sent on her 80th birthday. Now, thanks to a state lawmaker, she has it back. https://t.co/fnVY3626wd
@JuliaEColeman To those using this tragedy to score partisan points—this is not the moment. Two public servants and their families were targeted in a horrifying act of violence. If you can’t offer compassion, at least offer silence.
In Michigan, our LGBTQ+ community is strong, vibrant, and a vital part of who we are. Pride is about honoring your courage, your joy, and the work you do every day to move us forward. I’ll keep fighting to make sure Michigan is a safe, welcoming place for everyone 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
I'll work with anyone who's serious about getting things done. But I'll never compromise on what I believe.
In Michigan, we know how to get things done—and that means working together.
Pope Francis was the rare leader who made us want to be better people. In his humility and his gestures at once simple and profound – embracing the sick, ministering to the homeless, washing the feet of young prisoners – he shook us out of our complacency and reminded us that we are all bound by moral obligations to God and one another.
Today, Michelle and I mourn with everyone around the world – Catholic and non-Catholic alike – who drew strength and inspiration from the Pope’s example. May we continue to heed his call to “never remain on the sidelines of this march of living hope.”
“I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me.”
This guy got two Bronze stars in Iraq and clerked for Roberts before landing at SDNY
Centrist Democrats making Gaza jokes and laughing at Dearborn is not just incredibly racist but is a new level of vile dehumanization. Empathy for Palestinians is nonexistent.
