Born & raised in small town Kansas, graduated from KU, lived in Chicago for a while but now back in KC. I enjoy music, sports, golf & all things Jayhawks.
Tonight’s #KUCancerFighter hero is Grant Van Blaricum, a 40-year-old husband and father of two, currently battling Stage IV colon cancer.
Grant currently resides in Dallas, but he’s a Lawrence, KS native and is a born and bred, passionate Jayhawk fan. Grant grew up going to the Roy Williams’ Basketball Camps every summer, attending KU football games every Saturday afternoon and making countless trips to The Phog as well. He’s raising his kids as big Jayhawk fans too.
Grant just got his diagnosis in late October and has already endured two rounds of chemo. He’s got a long road ahead but according to his family, he’s staying positive & is determined to fight and win!
Grant, we’re all so inspired by your courage and determination and impressed by your lifelong support of the Jayhawks too. You’ve got this, brother. Jayhawk Nation is pulling for you & tonight’s call is for you!
