I think Arkansas’ Little Rock nine is related to Coates’s memoir because like the Little Rock nine, Coates talks about losing his body a lot and how black people have always been mistreated and thru LRN there bodies are always being mistreated and at risk of even death #cmu111

A book that really made me open my eyes was Stockett’s “The Help”. The Help is a story that takes place in the 1960’s & tells the story of black people going thru a time of discrimination. This book really opened my eyes because of the gruesome details Stockett includes #cmu111

Although it might be hard to see, “Space Oddity” “Deadkidistan” and “Permission to dance” are all teaching one thing: you can be happy even through the toughest times. Through loss of child, loss of friend or through a pandemic, you can still find happiness. #CMU111

I think the point that Searcy is trying to make is that no amount of love towards a thing is as important as a life. Searcy illustrates this when we says “that’s it, you think. Right off the rails. Can you believe it?” (273). #CMU111

My writing process is very back and forth between arguing and providing evidence for both sides. It can get pretty messy sometimes. Sometimes I’ll start writing and I’ll have to slow down and re-read the whole paragraph just to make sure I am saying what I want to say #CMU111
