@ThunderRunt@mikeduncan As a lefty, I make the comparison because the Republic fell to internal schisms rather than external invasion (one of the only examples in history) and I’d like to avoid that fate.
Rightists use it because most don’t know that history, so they can get away with bad analysis.
@atrupar It’s not just that he broke DoJ policy and hurt Hillary Clinton. It’s also that he stayed mum about the investigation they had into Trump and thereby helped him. It’s the double standard and the lack of remorse for me.

@laurenboebert Yes, I’m sure he was the one personally monitoring the computers. It’s not as though he fired all of the air traffic controllers or anything.

@mikeduncan We will need a “History of Rome” obit when it happens. “He was _ years old, had ruled the republic for four years, and pretended to rule the republic for _ years more.”
