Jalon Daniels was a 3-star recruit and the 48th ranked dual-threat QB in his class.

Coming out of high school, Daniels had just TWO Power Five (at the time) offers, Syracuse and Kansas.

In 2020, Daniels got his first few starts as a true freshman, but in 2021 lost the starting title to Jason Bean during fall camp.

Later that season, Bean got injured, Daniels took over, and NEVER looked back.

Daniels now ranks 2nd all-time in both passing yards (9,282) and passing TD’s (67) for the Jayhawks.

However, Daniels was passed on 257 times in the 2026 NFL Draft and was claimed as a UDFA by the Buccaneers.

Today, Daniels was officially named the Buccaneers QB2 after three eye-opening preseason performances.

And has a chance to be Tampa Bay’s next franchise QB following the end of Baker Mayfield’s era.
