I'm coming arond to Matt's view on this. I've been wrestling with the fact that I like that Kalshi/Polymarket exist because I think there's a legitimate use case for hedging and analysis

But the sports betting feels so bad! And spoiling the end of Survivor, or the Lady Gaga surprise at the Super Bowl, genuinely sucks! There's no economic use case for that, right?

I feel like a prediction market that excludes any competitions or chance-based contracts (Polymarket offered contracts on super bowl coin toss) might actually have a chance of making it through the regulatory boomerang when Democrats (eventually, maybe) win back federal power...

After a brutal stretch of hacks, with April '26 being the most-hacked month in crypto history so far, one independent dev, @0xFlorent_, used an exploit to unlock $2 million in ETH that was locked in an ICO contract for nearly a decade.
