I’m ready to get back to loving people and actually making a difference.
I’m ready to stop being surprised and shocked when evil people do evil things.
Yeah the world is wicked and some people just don’t get it, but being judgmental and self-righteous is not the way. Love is.
Love does not always make people FEEL loved. Love is often uncomfortable and confrontational. Love requires truth and does not affirm sin. Yes, have grace wherever possible, but understand that real love will inevitably offend at times.
Love people, hate evil. It’s both.
What would happen if the church just gathered to pray together, read the Bible together, and praise the Lord with no agenda or time limit?
My guess: revival would happen.
The revival happening at Asbury University tells me this:
God’s not really interested in our church buildings, schedules, merch, fog machines, motivational sermons, dynamic worship, or livestream numbers.
I’d dare to say that maybe He wants us to put these things aside.
It’s great that your church is “reaching” tons of people, but what if we chilled out on all these human efforts to make it look a certain way and just let God do what He does?
This is a scary prayer, but I’m saying it:
God, please don’t let me get too comfortable. Please always keep me in a place of total dependence on you. Whatever it takes for me to stay humble and in right relationship with you, that’s my desire, Lord. I need you.
It might sound crazy, but I miss being uncomfortable.
Of course I don’t miss the hangovers, the darkness, depression, loneliness, suicidal thoughts, or any of that…but I do miss how God allowed all of that to break me and bring me close to Him.
I don’t fully understand it, but I just know that I’m designed to need Him. Every time I get more comfortable, I grow distant from Him. When I’m fully dependent on Him, I thrive. Maybe not outwardly, but certainly inwardly.
Too often, I wait for God to open and unlock doors that He already gave me the keys for.
Yes, there’s a time for patience and waiting, just check your pockets first. You probably already have what you need. ;)
I don’t think social media needs to be everyone’s “ministry.” We’re all uniquely gifted. But I do know this:
If the Gospel is in you, it will come out of you.
So the mask mandates on airplanes were “unlawful”, just like we knew all along.
Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a victory. This is what corrupt governments do:
They take away 2 rights, eventually give one back, and convince the people that it’s “progress.”
Imagine Jesus’ friends and followers on this night. Night 2 after his death…
They probably went to bed devastated, crushed, angry, and confused. They had no idea the GOOD NEWS tomorrow would bring.
My point is: Live with hope.
The tomb is empty, so we don’t have to be!!
I always liked being a little bit edgy and crazy. The cool part now is I don’t even have to try. Being straight, married, and knowing there are only two genders is enough to be labeled “crazy.”
Add being Christian and unvaccinated…I’m wayyyy out there.
Congrats to all my unv**** friends on surviving the dark winter of death, but don’t get too excited… we still have to get through climate change!!
But don’t worry, just do whatever the TV says to do and I’m sure you’ll be fine. 😉
Jesus said there will be wars and rumors of wars. He also said do not be troubled, because all of these things are necessary.
Yes, care. Yes, pray. Just know that these things are necessary in order to get where we’re going. (That’s eternity with Jesus fyi.)
Hey @AmericanAir I know it’s not your fault, weather happens.
It just sucks to call and be told to wait “more than 4 hours” to speak with a human being.
I paid for a service that was not provided. Again, not your fault, but I need someone to help with that now, please.
It’s good to hate evil, but there’s nothing Christ-like about directing that hatred toward people. I’m guilty of that.
Passiveness is not the way, but hating people isn’t either.
Righteous anger should produce love.
If it doesn’t bear good fruit, it’s a bad seed.
