@bdriesdm@DailyMemphian have you published anything on what’s happening on that same road west of Kirby? Humphrey eastbound right lanes in Memphis have been closed with pipes atop them for a few months now. that’s having a much larger impact on people than loss of trees.
Excellent article by @germanrlopez for the @nytimes about a big, important problem in the US:
Most crimes aren’t solved. If you murder someone, it’s essentially a coin flip whether you’ll be arrested for it. If you steal a car, you’ll almost certainly get away with it.
Increasing the probability that would-be offenders get caught has a huge deterrent effect. (There is lots of strong empirical evidence showing this.) I genuinely believe that doing so is our ticket out of mass incarceration. It’s time to start investing time, energy, and money in finding ways to increase solve rates.
"The city also credits a police crackdown on so-called ghost cars with reducing fatalities...The police have seized more than 20,000 ghost cars since 2022 — cars with fake tags or plates that obscured by camera-proof screens, stickers or tape."

@Greg_Gaston@dresserwinn Some of us who played ball in Class A back in the day remember when his father, Peanut Winn, played at Dresden with Popeye Jones (who has two sons in the NHL).
@PetePranica@FDSN_Grizzlies@brevinknight22@memgrizz Ah gotcha. Your crew does great job finding the right angles so we’re fortunate. I just love a panorama view — see the spacing and especially appreciate speed/size of those athletes.

I’ve known Josh Pastner since he was a 17-year-old basketball savant.
Few have been more fun to talk with about the game, and Josh has loved doing that on TV.
But he believes he has a lot more wins in him as a coach and would love to get that shot soon. 👇
