@MarkShuller@1ReganTaylor@CFBNerds Cmon brother I know Indiana is new to this football thing, but the season starts around here well before the first kick off
@RickyBellamy5@Ancap_Jonathan@vancemeek Baseball is such an analytical sport way more than most because we realized that there are so many variables that can add or take away from a guys core stats that doesn’t necessarily reflect how good that player is, so we remove those variables to get a better picture
@RickyBellamy5@Ancap_Jonathan@vancemeek Yes These stats are literally designed to tell us if batting conditions were the same how would the player perform. They are analytics and that’s the entire reason that they are such a massive and important part of baseball scouting
@RickyBellamy5@ColeW27_@vancemeek Says the idiot who can realize that those nuances matter when analyzing 2 different players. Like cmon brother grow a brain they are both good players
@RickyBellamy5@Ancap_Jonathan@vancemeek You do know that not every batter gets put in the same situation right? Sal having 60 more PAs with RISP than JJ surely doesn’t affect RBIs right? Jj being the lead off surely doesn’t affect that right?
@tonycamp1@Soly_Reds@dublinbats01 And besides most of the reds fans using that argument probably haven’t watched enough of JJ to even justly make that argument
@tonycamp1@Soly_Reds@dublinbats01 Yall gotta stop with the “eye test” in baseball. Because if you actually used your eyes they would just say that these are both Great ball player, but if you want a true argument of whose better than you have to look those non core stats.
@BuckeyeNatty@JMcFall07 Yeah but even then their difference on offense is minuscule, Sal has 40 more rbis but he’s also not the lead off like JJ. Like there are some pretty obvious nuances there that you kind of just remove by saying “buts he’s got 40 more RBIs”
@UnrealizedPains@US_of_Iowa@CodifyBaseball It’s very simple baseball though to understand that it’s easier to sit back on a off speed pitch when a guys fastball velo is down, that’s like the most basic fundamentals right there
