To “protect their dignity.”

This is year five of the ban. Afghanistan is the only country on Earth that forbids half its population from getting an education beyond primary school.

Where are the feminists?

The ones who march every day against the West, against America, against “the patriarchy” at home?

Suddenly quiet when real oppression shows up in burqas and decrees.

They scream about microaggressions here. They ignore girls barred from classrooms there.

This isn’t complicated.
