اردو میں آسان تشریح اور مطلب:

میرے نزدیک صلح جنگ سے بہتر ہے۔
جب تمام تدبیریں، حیلے اور بات چیت کے راستے ختم ہو جائیں، تب ہی تلوار اٹھانا جائز ہے۔

اگر دشمن صلح چاہتا ہے تو سر نہ پھیرو (یعنی صلح قبول کر لو اور پیچھے نہ ہٹو)۔
اور اگر وہ جنگ چاہتا ہے تو لگام نہ کھینچو (یعنی پیچھے نہ ہٹو، بلکہ تیار رہو)۔

کیونکہ اگر دشمن خود جنگ کا دروازہ بند کر دے (یعنی صلح کی طرف آ جائے) تو تمہاری عزت اور وقار ہزار گنا بڑھ جائے گا۔

اور اگر وہ جنگ کی طرف قدم بڑھائے تو قیامت کے دن اللہ کے حضور تم سے کوئی حساب نہیں لیا جائے گا (یعنی تم بے گناہ ہو گے، کیونکہ تم نے پہل نہیں کی)۔

تم بھی جنگ کے لیے تیار رہو جب کینہ، دشمنی اور بدنیتی پیدا ہو جائے،
کیونکہ کینہ رکھنے والے (دشمن) کے ساتھ مہربانی اور نرمی کرنا غلطی ہے۔
