To the ignoramus "luck" is assumed to be the cause for their respective success and failure.
Isagi's success can supposedly be achieved by anyone with a "god-send goal" and Kira supposedly had the skill but was met with "bad luck".
A true winner A true loser
The idea of Sae is much better than what's actually been penned and the Sae we'll see in the U-20 WC is closer to that almost mythical idea of him.
That's the Sae syndrome in a nutshell.
Sae is the scariest U20 player in Blue Lock.
The moment he gets the ball, heโs attacking the goal and creating chances.
He never stops to analyze, he calculates while moving forward, which is why everyone panics when heโs on the ball.
Him also having the best pass and shot accuracy, with also the best playmaking ability amongst any U20 player is terrifying.
As a former Madrid level striker, he will score himself if no one is available to assist.
A true nightmare of a player, always sniffing a goal.
@getsugafact I think the parallel you're drawing is a little off. Even if Bunny isn't aware of his true ego or needs a new spark to find it again, Rin as a catalyst doesn't sound right. Bunny has lost the joy he once had and Rin's hurdle is letting go of his fixations. What's the link here?
I'm not sure how Ego will address this but one thing is certain, Ego only values reproducible goals. "Lucky coincidences" don't have long term value. Even though Rin acted as a striker should, there was no logic behind it โ only irrational emotion.
Ego's warning to Isagi after the Nigeria game seemingly applies to Rin's final play vs France.
Rin's fixation on Isagi led to him making a risky play at a critical point in the game. They missed the equaliser which led to a team breakdown as Loki went on to score the dagger.
Similarly, Kaiser also had an "Isagi fixation" problem that Noa criticised. Vs Manshine, Kaiser made "irrational plays" for the sole purpose of crushing Isagi at the potential detriment of the team.
Ultimately, Rin's regression back to his fixation needs to be addressed one way or another. Whether it's a stepping stone moment for Rin into the next games, he needs to have some self-reflection. It can't be rewarded.
You hold all the cards Kaneshiro don't let me down ๐
If that wasn't clear enough, Isagi asked for a superior theory from Ego and when Ego humoured him, Isagi went onto regurgitate Ego's Formula of Evolution.
Isagi has always been Ego's spiritual successor. I don't understand this need for a drastic change in philosophy.
It's like some of deliberately read this manga blindfolded.
Isagi has be developing his own philosophy that's in-tune with Ego's this whole time without realising it. Ofc the character that will achieve Ego's dream will do it in his spirit.
Every time Ego has been questioned on his philosophy he's always had an answer as to why he's right. How many times does he have to prove himself for people to sit back and trust the process?
