We came together at the panel titled “National Will and Democratic Resilience: July 15 on Its 10th Anniversary,” organized by the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Directorate of Communications in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, as part of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day commemorations.

We also had the opportunity to discuss the growing relations between Türkiye and Nigeria. As bilateral ties continue to advance toward a strategic partnership, cooperation between the two states will undoubtedly grow even stronger in the years ahead, built on mutual trust, shared interests, and a common vision for the future.

The panel featured distinguished speakers, including Fatih Erkin Mahdum, Coordinator of the Yunus Emre Institute in Abuja; Dr. Mohammed Bawa Gummi, President of the Türkiye-Nigeria Alumni Association; Racheed Abubakar, Representative of Muslim News Nigeria; and Dr. Zainul Abideen Jibril from Skyline University Nigeria, who shared their valuable insights on the significance of July 15, democracy, and Türkiye-Nigeria relations.

With the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Abuja, the event highlighted that July 15 was not only the prevention of a coup attempt, but a historic turning point that demonstrated the triumph of the nation’s will before the world.

The true victor is the nation, and the ultimate source of strength is the national will. 🇹🇷
