Some have asked for pics of the Revolutionary War fort we discovered inside an old plantation house in West Virginia. Almost none of the original Rev War frontier log forts survive. Historians believed an old log fort know as Byrnside’s Fort was still there, inside the walls of this large house. But…
We had to buy the property first before being able to take a crowbar to it to see if the logs were inside the walls. I was 90% sure they were there…

@graham_raby That sucks! It'll be sad but interesting to hear what other abundance changes you might observe. For reference, here's their abundance in western Lake Erie (where numbers have stabilized):
At the sites we seine each year for my fish course, last year was the first where the invasive round goby showed up. We caught 22 gobies in total. This year, we caught 1,116 (same sites, month, fishing effort). Exponential growth is a helluva drug.

Two days left in #AFS153 ! Both @HookLab and I are around if you want to stop by and say hi to learn more about possible PhD and Masters positions at @PurdueFNR
Talking 2:20PM Thurs - what can we learn from a Smallmouth Bass jaw tag project once considered a failure? That's the goal in the Failing Successfully Session at #AFS153.
Attending #AFS153? I'm talking on Thurs (2:20PM) about comparing jaw tag and acoustic telemetry study results for SMB on Lake Erie. Hope to see y'all there!

Amazing collaboration with Bassmaster Elite series pros on #LakeStClair this past week to study movement of tournament caught fish. Got tags in fish from as far away as Lake Erie and Huron! Awesome teamwork all around through the entire process. 📸🎣⛈️🌈
@muskie_time Looks like a Shorthead Redhorse to me, but they're notoriously tough to ID to species. Need lateral line scale count and underside of mouth shot. If you catch the often, check this out: https://t.co/8hyzogzuXm
