Tipp finished top in 2019 but the “prize” for that was to play Limerick in Limerick due to a home and away agreement between county boards. As there is now home and away every second year with the round robin then this could be done away with.

@HigherEdGAA, surely something has to be done about this. MIC THURLES with a higher score difference and still be thrown from the competition??

@newryhurler1 @laoishurler @mlverney @MICThurles @HigherEdGAA I doubt that HEAGAA had this in the rules beforehand. While there may have been a rule about score diff, it surely didn't say that it only applies to certain teams. I haven't heard of that before - open to correction though. 2/2

@newryhurler1 @laoishurler @mlverney @MICThurles @HigherEdGAA Something similar happened in Clare relegation playoff. Teams were level on points after the group stage. Score diff was then used but as this rule was NOT in place before the competion started it could not be used to separate teams. Result was no relegation 1/2
