Here's the thing about Trump going full Nazi:
Trump isn't even the main problem.
In all likelihood, he's going to lose next year and end up in prison. Yes, if he somehow manages to cheat his way into office, our Democracy is over, but as it currently stands, Biden is more popular with Democrats than Trump is with Republicans.
The media will never tell you that, but if Biden voters turn out, Trump loses. We'll save that conversation for another day, though.
The real problem with Trump going full fourth reich with plans to install tens of thousands of loyalists in the government/military, invoking the insurrection act on day 1 and filling the streets with the military, and rounding up people and throwing them into concentration camps, is that it isn't a Trump specific plan.
It's a *REPUBLICAN* plan. They're all in on it.
We've all seen what's in Project 2025, and not a single GOP presidential candidate has condemned it. That's because if Trump somehow isn't the nominee next year and they win, they're going follow through with it themselves.
It doesn't take the entirety of the executive branch being corrupted to lose our democracy. Put a few people in key positions in federal agencies, intelligence agencies, and military positions being held open by a certain GOP Senator, with a conservative supreme court on the payroll of right wing billionaires, there's no one to stop them if they get control of the White House.
And I'm not being an alarmist. Like I said, if we do our jobs right, Biden will win in 2024. The problem is that Project 2025 can easily become Project 2029 or Project 2033.
Because it doesn't matter which Republican is at the helm, it doesn't matter when they win. If they ever win, at least as the party is currently constituted, it's all over. And once in power, they're never leaving office.
If Republican wins in 2024 or 2028 or 2032, they won't wait until they've lost their reelection bid to stage a J6-like coup. No. They're going start dismantling democracy on day 1 in office so that by the time they have to run for reelection, elections won't mean anything.
And I keep harping on the failures of mainstream media (they're going to be a problem in 2024 but again, we'll save that post for another day), but they should be screaming this from the mountain top. Not even for the more altruistic motivation of saving our democracy and saving me from a concentration camp or worse, but out of self-preservation.
Priority number one won't be rounding up immigrants or sending the military to the border, or whatever stupid thing Republicans are promising. It will be a GOP version of the Night of Long Knives where they kill off their political opponents inside and outside of the party.
At the top of that list? The media.
Medicare for All would save $450B a year.
Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.
Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.
It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.
It’s about priorities.
The chain of custody is clear
Trump invited Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov into the Oval Office where he shared with him highly classified US intel, likely including Israeli intel
Russia then gave it to their ally Iran who then gave it to Hamas
Thus runs the trail of blood
This has always been the GOP's strategy:
1) Cut taxes for the wealthy by claiming they'll pay for themselves.
2) Explode the deficit.
3) Demand cuts to essential safety nets.
4) Threaten to shut down the government.
5) Repeat.
It's always the same baloney.
listen up, stupids:
you told us Joe Biden was corrupt. ok, we said, show us your evidence.
you told us you had proof. cool, we said, show us your evidence.
there's a whistleblower, you screamed. great, we said, show us your evidence.
the whistleblower has tapes, you shouted. awesome, we said, show us your evidence.
then you told us your whistleblower was in hiding. fine, we said, show us your evidence.
then you told us you couldn't find your whistleblower.
super, we said, show us your evidence. then you told us the whistleblower was dead.
whatever, we said. just show us the fucking evidence.
then it turned our your whistleblower was a Chinese spy and a fugitive from justice. great whistleblower you got there, we said, now how about that evidence.
then you announced an impeachment hearing. why, we asked, did you finally find some evidence?
Professor Turley's going to tell you all about it, you replied. cool, we said, Professor Turley, do you HAVE any evidence?
no, said Professor Turley. well then, we asked, did you SEE any evidence?
no, said Professor Turley. well then, we asked, did you HEAR ABOUT any evidence?
no, said Professor Turley. and so your big stupid impeachment hearing blew the fuck up right in your dumb faces, and you all looked like silly dipshits.
even Fox News made fun of you.
now it's time for you to sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up until you can show. us. some. evidence
These are actual quotes from the MAGA movement:
“I am your retribution.” “Slitting throats" of civil servants. “We must destroy the FBI.”
Did you ever think you’d hear leaders of a political party in the United States of America speak like that?
‘We should all remember, democracies don't have to die at the end of a rifle. They can die when people are silent, when they fail to stand up or condemn threats to democracy because they feel frustrated, disillusioned, tired, alienated.’
-Joe Biden, today
The GOP presidential frontrunner, who didn’t bother to show up tonight, was just found liable by a judge of long-running business fraud.
Not a single candidate has said a word about it. Not a single question on it from the moderators.
This is not actually a debate.
Republicans are calling for a 27% cut in necessary government programs to pay for the debt caused by their 2017 Tax Cut Cut for the Rich. Their entire agenda is based on an upward transfer of wealth.
Over the past five years, GM and Ford made a total of $42 billion in profit.
But during that time, GM paid an effective federal tax rate of only 1.3%. Ford? -0.2%. That's right. NEGATIVE 0.2%
Don’t tell me that automakers can’t afford to pay workers what they deserve.

Some of us warned you about ‘Sound of Freedom’ - and the dodgy hypocritical people behind the movie and behind the group itself. https://t.co/ElQXLj8mNB
Remember: The real freeloaders in this country are the rich, not the poor.
The richest 1% evade $163 billion in taxes every year.
The United States literally has a yacht tax deduction.
Hello?
Mitt Romney sent this text to Mitch McConnell on Jan. 2, 2021:
"In case you have not heard this, I just got a call from Angus King, who said that he had spoken with a senior official at the Pentagon who reports that they are seeing very disturbing social media traffic regarding the protests planned on the 6th. There are calls to burn down your home, Mitch; to smuggle guns into DC, and to storm the Capitol. I hope that sufficient security plans are in place, but I am concerned that the instigator—the President—is the one who commands the reinforcements the DC and Capitol police might require."
McConnell never responded.
