Iran picked up the phone: "You have 30 minutes."
The ship turned around. It made a U-turn immediately!
Then a Pentagon official had to go on AXIOS and explain that actually it was only "freedom of navigation".
Now we know what a U-turn means.
No shots fired. No missiles launched. Just Iran's word. And apparently, that was enough.

عقد قائد الجيش العماد رودولف هيكل في اليرزة اجتماعًا استثنائيًّا، حضره أركان القيادة وقادة الوحدات والأفواج العملانية، وعدد من الضباط، وتناول فيه آخر التطورات التي يمر بها لبنان والجيش في ظل المرحلة الاستثنائية الحالية.
استُهل الاجتماع بدقيقة صمت استذكارًا لأرواح شهداء الجيش والوطن الذين سقطوا نتيجة العدوان الإسرائيلي، وآخرهم فجر اليوم أثناء الإنزال المعادي في منطقة الخريبة - النبي شيت.
خلال الاجتماع، تطرّق العماد هيكل إلى مجريات الإنزال، موضحًا أنّ عناصر الوحدة المنفِّذة كانوا يرتدون بزات عسكرية مماثلة لتلك الخاصة بالجيش اللبناني، وأنهم استخدموا آليات عسكرية، وسيارات صحية مماثلة لسيارات الهيئة الصحية الإسلامية.
بعدها أكد أنّ الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية التي تطال لبنان ومواطنيه تعرقل تنفيذ خطة الجيش، في ظل تطورات إقليمية متسارعة تنعكس على الوضع العام في البلاد.
وقال: " القيادة تتخذ قراراتها وفق ما يتناسب مع الظروف المعقدة القائمة، واضعةً نصب عينيها هدفًا رئيسيًّا هو الحفاظ على لبنان وضمان وحدته، والحفاظ على المؤسسة العسكرية التي تعمل تحت ضغوط داخلية وخارجية شديدة وبإمكانات محدودة، وتبذل قصارى جهدها لحماية الاستقرار الداخلي والوحدة الوطنية. إنّ الجيش يقف على مسافة واحدة من اللبنانيين كافة ويتعامل معهم انطلاقًا من موقعه الوطني الجامع".
وأضاف: "هذه المرحلة الدقيقة ترتبط ببقاء لبنان، والحل ليس عسكريًّا فقط، إنما يحتاج إلى التعاون والتكامل بين الجهود السياسية والرسمية على مختلف المستويات في موازاة جهود الجيش، بهدف تحصين الوحدة الوطنية وتجاوز التحديات. نشدّد على أنّ الحل في لبنان يرتكز على تحقيق عاملَين أساسيَّين: الأول إلزام الجانب الإسرائيلي بوقف الاعتداءات والخروقات المستمرة لسيادة لبنان واستقراره، والثاني تعزيز إمكانات المؤسسة كي تكون قادرة على تنفيذ المهمات الملقاة على عاتقها خلال استحقاقات المرحلتين الحالية والمقبلة".
وبشأن الوضع في الجنوب، لفت العماد هيكل إلى أن الجيش يعمل في ظروف صعبة للغاية وسط تصعيد الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية، وينفذ إعادة تموضع في المنطقة الحدودية، ويقوم بإعادة تمركز لوحداته ضمن قطاع جنوب الليطاني، في سياق إجراءات أوسع تشمل مختلف الوحدات المنتشرة على مساحة الوطن، وتأخذ في الحسبان الحفاظ على المؤسسة والعسكريين، ومتابعة التطورات المتلاحقة.
وتابع: "يولي الجيش اهتمامًا كبيرًا لمواكبة نزوح المواطنين وتوفير سبل الدعم الممكنة لهم، وحماية مراكز الإيواء وحفظ الأمن في محيطها عن طريق تدابير أمنية استثنائية".
كما ختم العماد هيكل بعرض المجريات عند الحدود اللبنانية السورية، مشيرًا إلى أنّ الجيش عزز انتشاره في المنطقة الحدودية، ويُواصل اتصالاته مع السلطات السورية المعنية.
