I’m going to preface this with saying I’m very, very happy Collin’s back. I think he’s gonna do great. Him leaving is why the Avery era has been disappointing. I’m glad he’s getting the support he needs for us to contend with the Techliban’s and BYU’s of the conference.

With that out of the way, my open letter to our donors -

Can you tell me what’s wrong with this picture?

FB coach - 4x FCS national champ, 1x Big 12 champ
BB coach - first time coach in his 50s with a flukey March run (3rd place Big 12 finish) and an NIT team

Donors 2023-25 - “but you can’t win a natty in football, spend big on hoops!”

FB coach - first time coach in his 30s
BB coach - 10 straight seasons at low/mid majors winning 20 games despite getting destroyed in the portal every year

Donors 2026 - “well Casey’s gotta show me something first before I invest.”

That is the very definition of ass backwards fellas.

Klieman was coming off a Big 12 title and y’all treated him like a step child to piss away money on the hardwood because why, you thought we could fluke another March Madness run and win 3 more games than the team that had everything go right? Maybe if we spent some of that ~20 million on football portal players the last 3 years, Coach Kli could’ve got us to the playoff.

The only bidding war on the gridiron y’all got in the last 3 years was for a 5 star player at a non premium position because he was a western Kansas farm boy, but you threw good money after bad that entire time at hoops because… maybe we could win 6 games in March?

Hope is not a strategy, y’all are filthy rich and should’ve known that.

But now it’s time to put it right. Don’t hold your dumb spending on the televangelist against Casey. You continuing to back the Brinks truck up for Tang is why we’re a punchline. I’m tired of being a national joke, I can only imagine how it feels when it’s your money that went up in flames.

I’m sincerely asking, please clean up your mess. Don’t hang Casey Alexander out to dry because Jerome Tang punked you.
