The only way to get the lowest serving worker to do his job diligently is to pay him what he needs to at least run his home. If not, we are all wasting our time.
@nimc_ng Urgent! @nimc_ng Please check DMs for Case ID: CAS-332605-N3V6B3. Physical NIN slip is updated, but NYSC portal API still pulls old details. NYSC registration closes Sunday tomorrow is my last chance to fix this! Please escalate. 🙏
The speed at which people switch political parties and immediately start singing praises needs to be studied. Absolute Olympic-level gymnastics. 🤸♂️👀

Deeply saddened by the tragic incident in Maiduguri. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.
May Allah grant the departed Aljannatul Firdaus and give their loved ones strength and patience. To the injured, Iwish you a swift recovery.

Many law students are often busy chasing the prestige, which comes with studying law but forget the purpose. They love the title “Barrister,” but the real power of law isn’t in the wig or the courtroom; it’s in how you think, speak, write, network, and solve problems. You aren't studying law for studying sake; you are studying law to understand the complexities in humanity whilst developing the skills to understand human problems and provide pragmatic solutions.
The study of law trains your mind to reason like an architect; building arguments, understanding systems, critically analysing issues, and protecting order. That’s not ordinary; that’s leadership in its purest form. The real-world skills that give you an instant advantage are strategic thinking and communication. Master how to negotiate deals, safeguard interests, communicate and pitch ideas in the most comprehensive way for the understanding of your audience.
If you can learn to see through complex issues, speak with clarity, and write persuasively, you can excel not only in court but in business, politics, and media. Trust me, Law practice is not just a skill or vocation; it is a business. There is a wide gap between learning the skill and mastering the "business." It is not just a profession; it’s a mindset ,and that’s what makes it powerful beyond the certificate. With a law degree, you can enter any room confidently to pitch ideas and get good results. With your BL, you can appear in any room to contribute, connect and educate.
As a Law Student, you will be an edge above your contemporaries if you can do the following:
1. Build your personal brand early. Don’t just be another law student cramming cases and quoting sections. Start breaking down real-life legal issues in simple ways people can understand online or offline. Write good articles and publish online to educate and enlighten the public on what the law says and how to be law abiding. That’s how clients and employers notice you.
2. Learn practical skills. Study contract drafting, negotiation, public speaking, legal writing, and research. These skills are learned by doing and by being consistent with them. There is hardly any good and sound lawyer who doesn't have these skills mentioned. In fact, you can't excel in law practice business without these skills. These are what make you indispensable.
3. Engage with society. Follow legal trends, human rights stories, and government policies. Speak your truth and render a voice to protect the human race from injustice. Have a knowledge of something in everything; it will always come in hand. All sectors where human exist have laws binding them. There is law in medicine, politics, international relation, tech, media and public advocacy. A good lawyer isn’t just learned; they’re informed. You can’t defend or change what you don’t understand. Start early!!
4. Use social media wisely. Instead of arguing in comment sections, start creating content that educate people and you can even make videos teaching people about their rights, or campus legal Q&As. It positions you as a voice of authority long before you graduate. The world doesn't appreciate knowledge which is not communicated and value which is not visible.
5. Network intentionally. Connect with lawyers, legal tech startups, and firms online. Offer to intern, volunteer, write, or research. Connect with students in other departments; they would most often than not be the first sets of clients that you will have after being called. Who you know and who knows you is more important than what you know. As you are mastering law, be connecting with individuals strategically who can open doors of opportunities for you to prove what you know. Opportunities in law come by connection/ recommendations, not just convocation.
Law practice is still a lucrative business for lawyers who have adhere strictly to good guidance from undergraduate days for a stitch in time saves nine.
