Open borders Andy Burnham is actually a very dangerous man.
We certainly don’t need another MP who has a record of speaking up for illegal migrants more than he has spoken up for law-abiding British taxpayers.
There is only one European nation with fewer hospital beds per capita than the UK
Sweden but they have the highest number of care home & nursing home beds
26% fewer care home beds
23% fewer nursing beds
Fewer hospital beds
Then people wonder why A&E is blocked
First, try to escape/run away.
Second, try to attract attention/scream/make noise.
But third, *if you have no choice but to defend yourself*, knee him in balls. Or kick him in the balls. Or punch him in the balls. And do it as hard as you can, make it count.
Said every parent to every daughter, forever, in what used to be an entirely uncontroversial life lesson.

@KemiBadenoch Disgusted. As a doctor who was on the fence you've just pushed me to be much more pro strike. Burnt out, abused by patients and management. Poorly paid for level of training and responsibility. Yes I hold lives in my hands so treat me accordingly.
@Jikkyleaks@tanstech@DrEilidhMaria@Fynnderella1@btysonmd@SabinehazanMD Well, it did happen. I also had a patient who I brought salads for lunch in for as he wouldn't eat hospital food. Strange times. When people couldn't have their families some of us did what we could. Humanity.
@tanstech@DrEilidhMaria We agree with the issues but not the solutions. Ultimately I feel that good drs are hugely undervalued. Poor ones sit at staff grade on jobs for life with increasing increments (they will never be consultant)
@tanstech@DrEilidhMaria Absolutely. I should not be diagnosing cancer almost daily in A&E. It is an inappropriate place to break the news.
we should not have "corridor care".
And we should all take some responsibility for our own health
@tanstech@DrEilidhMaria So at the crux we agree. 20% of my pay goes directly back into the NHS. I could pay for very comprehensive insurance for my whole family with that...
@tanstech@DrEilidhMaria Agreed, we are not perfect. We just (hopefully) do our best. My MRI scan was normal. My hysterectomy proved my womb was far from normal
@tanstech@DrEilidhMaria My pension is different. I started medicine 10 years late so will likely be working until 70+. Pay is in no way performance linked. It definitely should be. Being most senior means signing off on the decisions of the more junior
@tanstech@DrEilidhMaria For the record I am paid £28.45 per hour (1/3 extra out of hours) and am the most senior person in depnt on nights. I think that deserves a payrise
@tanstech@DrEilidhMaria I can see that. Try working in it. As an A&E dr I constantly apologise for wait times even though out of my control. You don't feel valued or appreciated. Add to that my pay is lower than most of my juniors (they have been drs for longer). The payscales need totally adjusting imo
