This was really nice: a healing romance about three sisters and one of them’s suitor. The script sometimes pushed too hard, but Sung-kyung ❤️ and Jong-hyeop played it convincingly; -> these roles, where she can hold the tension between reserve and vulnerability, really, really suit her. The middle sister’s character and her defense mechanism turned out especially well. Overall it landed pretty strongly, even if it doesn’t quite reach the quality of Call It Love. 85%! 👍

Every society today could use a sales team like this - one that fixes the justice system’s failures and, quite literally, bona fide protects the public. Or am I wrong? 😜
Hyo-jin😍 is completely convincing in both roles: sniper and mother. She goes from an orphaned childhood hardened by abuse to her own vigilante code: she doesn’t trust the law, so she has to “protect” people in a rather different way. Once she finally builds an ordinary life, she clings to it real strong (even if vanishing for six months in the end was pretty brutal). You can see how well she pulled it off especially in wonderful little Yul.
The ending is simplified and predictable. Overall, though, a really good watch. ❤️

I’m already looking forward to seeing #KimJiWon in a white coat 🥼 as she takes on her bad bad colleagues. That’s why I started watching this original Japanese series (by the way: it was a national phenomenon with huge ratings), in which the amazing #RyokoYonekura played Daimon Michiko, a.k.a. Doctor X.
It’s unbelievable that the screenwriter barely bothered with any story or character development at all. The same formula over and over: a difficult case → ostracism from colleagues → a life-saving operation, always preceded by the iconic line “Watashi, shippai shinai node.”
The same rituals were also repeated at the beginning of every season.
And yet all seven (fairly short) seasons worked and were really great to watch. (Except for that very last episode with the coronavirus and robotic Michiko.) Awesome! 👍
Hoping the Korean version will be great as well!

The spectacular courtship dance of the Red-Crowned Cranes (Grus japonensis).
Also known as the Japanese crane or Tancho, these majestic birds are famous for their highly choreographed winter dances performed on snow-covered fields. The ritual includes deep bowing, leaping into the air, tossing pieces of grass, and spreading their wings gracefully.

This was such the saddest thing in the world, a truly exceptionally cruel love-story; well-deserved winner of “Best Drama” at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards and yet: one-woman show! ❤️ #MinNamgoong is a great actor, everyone knows that, but #AhnEunJin , with this massive role set against the real and deeply tragic historical events of 17th-century Korea, soared straight into the elite. Incredibly talkative, kind, and resilient… and unforgettable. Visually stunning, the OST fit perfectly. (This is how a nation should confront its painful history.) 100%⭐️

Third unbelievable feat by screenwriter #ParkHaeyoung. Both she and #KooKyohwan (who already shone in one episode of EAW as Pied Piper and in D.P.) will definitely win more than one award for their performances. This is definitely my favorite drama of the year so far. (Last year it was two: WLGYT + Our Unwritten Seoul.)
#KangMalgeum as the boss of Gobak Film and the poet-brother #ParkHaejoon were absolutely chilling — their acting gave me goosebumps. And #GoYounjung 😍 — words fail me. In such a natural, simple, and completely understated way, without any extra theatrics, she proved that she can handle heavy stories and delivers them with total naturalness and depth. Just… 🔥
Loved it!

My beloved PEB ❤️, not like this again, please!! (She must have really needed a break if she took such a bad script.) Really weak. Flat, shallow, boring, and sometimes the dialogue sounds like it’s written for people who aren’t all there.
The story started promisingly (ghosts + investigation + chemistry with Se-jong), but after episodes 7–8 those ghosts just vanish and the rest turns into a flimsy chaebol-inheritance-corporate stew packed with a million overused tropes. Yes, the famous white k-lorry on a killing spree appeared as well.
PEB already played a ghost-seeing role once before (Ghost Detective), and on top of that this is a remake of the 15-year-old movie Spellbound (Son Ye-jin + Lee Min-ki). Why this? (Already looking forward to The Master’s Sun.)
The only plus was her facial expressions - she can still say more without a word than others do in a long dialogue. But even the CEO role didn’t suit her at all…. (By the way, the only one who absolutely nailed that kind of role was only one Queen/of Tears.)
