Mir Yusuf Qalandrani was abducted from his residence in Karachi on 17th August 2025 by a men travelling in multiple police mobiles and black vigos. For two months his family protested without any result. On 3rd October the family submitted an application with the Commission on Inquiry of Enforced Disappearances through Defence of Human Rights.

On 17th October Yousuf's family finally submitted an application for FIR with PS Gizri. The Police though received the application refused to register a FIR following which we filed an application under 22A with District & Sessions Judge Karachi South which is fixed tomorrow for hearing.

Suddenly, yesterday it was revealed that Yousuf, who has been abducted from Karachi, has been released in Khuzdar only to be detained a few hours later under MPO. This was done to avoid scrutiny and investigation into his abduction and to provide legal cover to his arbitrary detention.

Yousuf Qalandrani is an elected official from the JUI-F serving as UC Chairman of UC Tootak, District Khuzdar. His three brothers abducted from Tootak in 2011 remain missing till date.

In 2014 three mass graves were uncovered in Tootak, Khuzdar. While some rights organizations claimed the number of bodies discovered to be 169 the Govt refuted and claimed the number to be 15. A judicial commission formed by Govt of Dr Abdul Malik later absolved the armed forces and intel agencies in the mass graves inquiry.

Tootak has also been terrorised by death squads run by Shafiq Mengal who though a relative of the Qalandrani tribe is also a political rival. Though the death squads stopped operation in between it was reported in early 2025 that Shafiq Mengal was active again in Tootak.

Mir Yousaf Ali Khan Qalandrani, who had been missing for the past two months, has been recovered and handed over to the Khuzdar district administration. He has been transferred to the Central Jail Khuzdar under Section 3 MPO.

In these pictures, Yousaf is right beside Baba where he always belonged. He was more than a son, he was Baba’s strength, his shoulder, his support, and the calm in his every storm.

Today marks the 30th day since Yusuf was forcibly taken from Baba, simply because they refused to bow before the instruments of oppression.

For 30 days, Baba has lived without his companion, without the son who carried his burdens silently, without the presence that made his world lighter. Every step he takes feels heavier, every moment emptier, every breath longing for Yousaf jan.

Ya Allah, return him to us. Let him once again be Baba’s strength, his comfort, his joy, and the anchor of our hearts.

17 اگست 2025 کو پاکستانی فورسز نے میر یوسف قلندرانی کو حراست میں لے کر نامعلوم مقام پر منتقل کر دیا۔ اس خاندان میں جبری گمشدگی کا یہ پہلا واقعہ نہیں ہے، بلکہ اس خاندان کے لیے یہ جبر ایک طویل اذیت ناک سلسلے کی کڑی ہے۔ اس سے قبل 2011 میں میر یوسف کے بھائی میر عتیق الرحمٰن، میر خلیل الرحمٰن، میر وسیم الرحمٰن سمیت پندرہ افراد کو بلوچستان کے علاقے توتک سے اغوا کر کے جبری طور پر لاپتہ کیا گیا تھا، جو تاحال اپنے گھروں کو واپس نہیں لوٹے۔

بلوچستان گزشتہ بیس برسوں سے جبری گمشدگیوں کے ایک بھیانک بحران کی لپیٹ میں ہے۔ ریاستی ادارے مسلسل بلوچ سیاسی کارکنوں، طلباء، اسات��ہ، صحافیوں اور عام شہریوں کو حراست میں لے کر غیر قانونی طور پر طویل عرصے تک غائب رکھتے ہیں نہ ان افراد کو عدالتوں میں پیش کیا جاتا ہے اور نہ ہی ان کے اہل خانہ کو یہ بتایا جاتا ہے کہ وہ زندہ ہیں یا نہیں۔

بلوچستان میں جبری گمشدگیاں محض قانون اور انسانی حقوق کی پامالی نہیں بلکہ ایک گہرا انسانی المیہ ہے، جس نے ہزاروں خاندانوں کو ناقابلِ بیان اذیت میں مبتلا کر رکھا ہے۔ اپنے پیاروں کی تلاش میں مائیں دہائیوں سے احتجاجی کیمپوں میں بیٹھی ہیں، بہنیں اور بیٹیاں عدالتوں کے دروازے کھٹکھٹا رہی ہیں، اور بچے اپنے والدین کی واپسی کی امید میں جوان ہو گئے ہیں۔ اسلام آباد سے کوئٹہ تک احتجاجی خیمے اور ریلیاں ان خاندانوں کی بے بسی اور ان کے عزم کی زندہ علامت ہیں، لیکن انصاف کے دروازے اب تک مسلسل بند ہیں اور یہ جبر کا تسلسل جاری ہے۔
