lee jaein’s first short film as a director, homeless christmas <홈리스 크리스마스> will be screened on may 23 and 25 (saturday) at ae kwan theater 4.

synopsis

minsu accidentally ended up all the way at seoul station after dozing off on the train. she was supposed to meet her family at her destination wonju but it looks like she won't be able to keep that promise. tomake matters worse, she is penniless and her phone is dead, leaving her completely stranded. even though today is christmas a day when blessings and peace are said to settle upon the world, minsu only feels perplexed and at a loss. in front of her, unexpected encounters begin to unfold. anyone who has ever wandered through an unfamiliar place or felt truly lost will understand the bewilderment minsu feels. in such moments, the small kindness and goodwill offered by a perfect stranger become a reliable comfort, and these chance meetings lead to unexpected joy and inspiration. homeless christmas is a one night road movie that delicately layers memories of first love and romance onto the “spectacle” created by these accidental encounters on the road. through these drifting people, minsu reflects on the meaning of home and retraces long held emotions and her past symbolized by “home.”

lee jaein, an actor who has steadily paved her own path through works like hi-five, svaha: the sixth finger and adulthood, not only stars as minsu but also makes her directorial debut with this film.
