someone once told me “emotional intelligence is the discipline of sitting with a feeling long enough to understand it before you hand it to someone else” and that honestly changed how i move.
Major cheat code for life: Stop dragging yesterday into today. The argument. The mistake. The missed chance. It’s already gone. Stop reliving it. Life happens in the direction you face.
you think that you’re sooooo small and alone in this world then you read a surah from the quran from a million hundred years ago and you realize the prophets have also felt this way and eventually their hardship also gave way to relief :)
My therapist dropped a gem: you can't spend your life avoiding heartbreak or bad things from happening. You have to condition yourself to have appropriate emotional responses but learn to keep moving forward.
Be delusionally optimistic about your future. You mind will try to stop you. Give you all kinds of reasons why you will fail. It's not the truth. It's fear. Fear of uncertainty. Do not fight it. Just ignore it. Believe that anything is possible. Your belief is the spark that keeps you moving forward.
Before I give up on people, I always make sure I really try. I always give more chances than I should, and I always try to find understanding in their actions. That way when I give up I know I'm done for good, and nobody can act surprised when they don't hear from me again
I'm so in love with this quote:
"Never limit your prayers because you think you are sinful or undeserving. You are not praying because of who you are; you are praying because of who He is, and He is the One whose mercy and love for you are endless."
Never lose tawakkul. Your time will come. Your prayers will be answered. You'll be where you want to be, as long as you don't lose Allah. Enjoy the life he gave you, appreciate your blessings. He hears your du'as, knows your needs. Everything will come in due time. In sha Allah.
From Dr Omar Suleiman “Never assume that the trials and hardships you are facing today are because of your past sins. Allah does not hold grudges. That is a human trait." Always think positively of Allah.Even if life feels difficult today, trust that He is arranging something better for you.Keep believing in Allah's plan
