After new X update here is how to automate dark mode: Shortcuts > automation > ‘+’ new automation > App > choose X > select run immediately > Create New Shortcut > search for Set Appearance > keep Turn Dark and save. Dark mode will automatically turn on when X is opened. (1/2)
