Zcash is not only the first ZK implementation used in the real world, but it also features the first protocol to undergo formal verification.

That protocol is Ironwood.

At this moment, Ironwood protects more than 4 million ZEC. That is, 5 billion dollars.

Zcash is arguably the most secure protocol for holding cryptocurrency. (Take a look at all the preparation for the quantum era.)

Presentaremos el panel «La Privacidad en México» a cargo de:

- @veldagamez: Dra. en Derecho, especialista en privacidad de datos, IA gobernanza, derechos digitales y cibercrimen. Docente de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales en el Tecnológico de Monterrey.

- @victor_ruiz: Encargado del capítulo Querétaro de la OWASP, especialista en ciberseguridad, fundador de Silikn y del Ecosistema Queretano de Ciberdefensa.

- @AdrianAlcala75: Catedrático de la facultad de derecho de la UNAM. Exdirector del INAI (Instituto Nacional de Transparencia, Acceso a la Información y Protección de Datos Personales).

El acceso está limitado a 50 personas mediante aprobación en Luma (ver enlace abajo).

Luego del panel tendremos dinámicas como trivias con premios, música en vivo, merch y un espacio para networking con comida y bebidas.

También haremos un sorteo de $200 USD en ZEC al mejor disfraz/máscara como un guiño a la privacidad. Así que lleva tu mejor diseño y participa.

NU7 is finally activating on Zcash! Zakura 1.7.0 activates it on height 3543405, which is the evening of November 5 for us Americans.

Blocks will occur three times faster in Zcash. Other changes like NSM funding and retiring the Sprout pool appear in this upgrade as well.

Zcash NU7 is coming, what do you need to know? 🤔

NU7 is scheduled to activate on Mainnet at block height 3,543,405, currently estimated for November 5–6. The upgrade will bring several important changes to ZEC mining:

🔸 Block target spacing: 75s → 25s
🔸 Block subsidy per block will adjust accordingly, keeping the overall issuance schedule unchanged
🔸 Miner fee share: 100% → 40%, while the remaining 60% goes to NSM reserve, reissued later as block subsidies

For ViaBTC Zcash @Zcash miners, no action is required.

ViaBTC has completed the necessary technical preparations and will handle the network upgrade to help ensure stable and uninterrupted ZEC mining through the Mainnet activation.

The block will be mined using Zcash's Proof-of-Work algorithm - Equihash.

Miners use a series of collision-finding stages to construct valid solutions, securing the network through computational work.

With parameters n = 200 and k = 9, Equihash operates on 200-bit values divided into 10 segments of 20 bits each.

We are very close to the launch of the first Zcash Mexico video podcast.

We recorded the first episode with @victor_ruiz, covering topics such as cybersecurity, AI, hackers, and privacy—plus, he received his first Zats!

This initiative seeks to learn from experts in cybersecurity, privacy, and economics, while simultaneously introducing Zcash to them and to the general public.

In each episode, we ask our guest to download a Zcash wallet, and we send them some ZEC live. This transaction is recorded from the phone and shown during post-production, allowing the audience to see how a Zcash transaction works directly through the wallet interface.
