I was curious about how big an impact proximity has on #localseo in different categories... we know it's a huge factor, but is it equally important for everyone? Did a small survey on coffee shops, dentists, and law offices.
Starting to think GMB reviews are a lot like link anchor text. Stuffing keywords might boost your rankings, but Penguin is always watching. But is anybody/anything watching reviews?
This was a fun #localseo case study to write, supported with original research -- how quickly can a GMB listing start to see ranking results?

The Phone View feature was tough to pull off, but worth it I think. The journey from prototype to production ready can be a long one. Finally solid enough to share!

@ownyourserp@tomwaddington8 I think you're right in that it's two profiles for the same business. That doesn't seem great, but not sure if that's something Google is likely to take action on.
Checking local SERPs (accurately) from anywhere is tricky, but Mobile View beta is coming soon for https://t.co/Yyx5joGIl4. Double check your geo-rank grids with mobile phone view (both Local Pack & Maps).
@si1very@googlemaps This will be interesting to watch play out, especially as someone who works on rank tracking for Maps. I'll have to do an experiment to see if rankings wax and wane hourly more-so in the near future with this update.
@Raspailloux@KorayGubur The spam detection finds listings that are violating GMB guidelines (i.e. law offices in a purely virtual office). All features except the spam detection are available internationally.
@Raspailloux@KorayGubur Hey @Raspailloux, it's a competing tool in the same niche to be sure, but has unique features as well, such as GMB spam detection, and competitor backlink analysis.
We just recently added localized keyword data (traffic + CPC) to https://t.co/Yyx5joGIl4, and this post shares a bit about how that works. Be forewarned, some #Python involved!

@BubblesUp@VorticonCmdr@georgenenni@YanGilbertSEO Not an extension, but https://t.co/Yyx5joGIl4 has an export feature that'll give you a CSV with all of the GMB details that a search turned up. That's included in the free scan too, so no sign-up or anything like that required.
If you're not sure keywords to use for your #localseo grid scan, well, we can suggest some now! And, the search volume/CPC is localized, which I'm pretty excited about (in the U.S. at least... will expand that in future).
@gmbcrush @_localBizSEO Interesting, I assume this is showing that being in the 3-pack is pretty crucial... not a ton of folks are clicking through to the Map and scrolling any further.
