i don’t think she had a lot of faith in inuyasha’s strength on it’s own, she believed naraku’s soul had to be destroyed. kikyo is the type of character who prefers to work alone, probably because she relied on herself as a miko and believes purifying the shikon jewel is her job+
it sucks knowing how inuyasha fans are… and with them flocking to mao, knowing what comments are inevitable…
i fear if you cannot handle a past love storyline, especially the storyline of a love who has died, then you are too immature for rumiko’s works.
“kagome is just kikyo’s soul who found inuyasha again” “inuyasha is a beautiful story about falling in love with the same soul twice” “kikyo got to live through kagome and therefore her wish came true” “in the end, kikyo and inuyasha were technically together”
kikyo wants inuyasha to die, kagome wants inuyasha to live.
at the time, inuyasha was felt it was necessary to go to hell with kikyo, even saying it might be their fate… but in the end, he knows that his fate was to be with kagome.
i love that inuyasha’s subconscious imagines kagome saying “i love you” so softly with flower petals falling despite her actually screaming it in desperation oh sunrise you ate that one lil thing
naraku never really did anything to kagome, yet she hates him as much as the other members of the inugang. i think it says a lot about her as a character, how she cares so deeply for other people. +
