We fell short against unbeaten and state-ranked Covenant Christian, losing by a score of 47-45. We trailed 43-24 before rallying to tie the game in the final minute.

Terra Schuberg led us with 14 pts. CC Kuras and Lily Huizenga had 9, and Emry Wyngarden hit two 3’s in the 4th.

The Chix dropped a road contest tonight at Unity Christian, 64-48. We were led by Terra Schuberg and Lizzie Risdon with 10 points each. CC Kuras scored 9, Fenna Gruppen had 7 and Lily Huizenga added 6.

We host Covenant Christian on Saturday at 2pm.

The Chix picked up a road win tonight at Holland, 59-17. We were led by Lizzie Risdon’s 14 points and freshman Olivia Mannes’ career-high 12 points. CC Kuras added 10 points and both Skyla Kuras and Lily Huizenga scored 7.

The Chix lost our conference opener to Spring Lake 43-38. We were led by Lily Huizenga’s 10 points. Fenna Gruppen, Lizzie Risdon, and CC Kuras each added 7, and Rogue Kraker scored 4.

We fell short against WO today 61-49, making our record 3-4. We were led by Lizzie Risdon with a career-high 27 points. CC Kuras added 9 and Lily Huizenga scored 7, while Olivia Mannes had double-digit rebounds.

Conference play opens next week against Spring Lake!

The Chix improve to 3-3 with a 49-39 win over Jenison. We were led by Lily Huizenga’s career-high 21 points. Skyla Kuras added 14 points and CC Kuras scored 10.

Next up we take on West Ottawa at 10:30am on Monday morning in the championship game at Cornerstone!

Chix improve to 2-2 with a road victory at FHC, 32-31. Lizzie Risdon led the way with 15 points, followed by Lily Huizenga with 9.

Next up we travel to Allendale on Thursday night.

The Chix pick up their first win of the year with a 54-49 OT victory at GR Christian. Lizzie Risdon led the way with 22pts, followed by Lily Huizenga with 15 and CC Kuras with 13.

Former Zeeland East teammates Emily Wierenga and Mirra Fenlon actually guarded each other in the Homegrown Classic Basketball All-Star Game on Thursday at Cornerstone University. Wierenga was named MVP of the game.

The girls' basketball team is heading into districts on a high note following a 56-30 home victory over a tough Mona Shores team. They finish the regular season 14-8!

Chix wrapped up the regular season with a 56-30 win over Mona Shores. @EmilyWiere34031 led the way with 18 points. Lizzie Risdon scored 13, Emme Meyering scored 8 and Leah Johnson added 6.

We finish the regular season at 14-8 and take on Zeeland West in districts on Wednesday.
