Gianni Infantino’s obsession with promoting Messi may ultimately have done more harm than good to his legacy.
Instead of allowing Messi’s career to speak for itself, every controversial decision, unusual privilege and convenient outcome created even more suspicion.
Then Chiqui Tapia’s influence made the entire situation look worse.
Whatever arrangement existed between Tapia, Infantino and Messi, the scale of it may never be fully understood but the damage to their credibility is already enormous.
They tried so hard to manufacture the perfect ending that they made millions of people question whether any of it was genuine.
Going 120 minutes in a World Cup final without registering a single shot on target wasn’t embarrassing enough.
But the real humiliation was leaving the tournament despised by almost everyone for embodying everything ugly about football: corruption, cheating, cynical fouls, constant whining and shameless play-acting.
They did not just lose the final, they lost the world’s respect.

Messi’s response: “I’m number one, Go watch him in Saudi Arabia”
He’s no longer forming humble😭😭😭😭😭😭
They call Nigerians criminals, but the official number from the Government of South Africa does not back up the claim that Nigerians are wholesale criminals in South Africa.
Nigerians form a small minority of foreign inmates. Available figures and statements place the number of Nigerian inmates in the low hundreds, estimated at roughly 1–3% of all foreign inmates; note foreign inmates, not total inmate population
The branding of Nigerians is not backed by data, but it's rather by personal animus towards an immigrant class that is successful in South Africa.
Data is stubborn
@Samthrilzz In the books, there was never a fight between the dragons and sheepstealer so don't let it sound as if there was anything special about it other than it survived the dsnce

Anyone claiming MLS is the 10th-best league in the world is simply not being serious.
Do people actually understand what being ranked 10th globally would mean?
This is a league without promotion or relegation, but even putting that aside, are we honestly supposed to believe MLS is stronger than:
Liga Portugal
Belgian Pro League
Dutch Eredivisie
Turkish Süper Lig
Polish Ekstraklasa
Swedish Allsvenskan
Danish Superliga
Norwegian Eliteserien
Brazilian Série A
Argentina’s Liga Profesional
And to finish it off, MLS is not better than the Saudi Pro League either.
Calling it the 10th-best league in the world is pure propaganda.
Cuando sientas que eres un DON NADIE, recuerda esto:
Messi marcó y le ofreció su camiseta a un suplente del Orlando. 🥹
Minutos después: Orlando REMONTÓ del 3-0 al 3-4. 😭😭
And the worst thing here is that these Catholic bishops don't have wives, nor children.
They have all submitted themselves to the Holy Church and nothing moves them again.
They are not GOs who are running churches as an enterprise and may be needing government's favour in their business.
Of course, you can't even bribe them. The Catholic bishops are contented with what the church gives them. Their only care is the welfare of the general public.
I really do understand the reason behind the meltdown in the Villa.
This is one thing that has never made sense to me, maybe because I’m not a lawyer.
If a girl who is 16 or 17 but looks older, like the ones in these pictures, deliberately hides her age from you and you end up having consensual sex with her, why is the adult man being punished? And the girl totally absolved from all blames and punishments.
Don’t tell me he should have asked for an ID, what if she forges that?
It took the FBI three years to turn world football against Sepp Blatter. Gianni Infantino did it to himself in four days. The World Cup sell-off is dead. His presidency is next.
Run the sequence back, because the speed is the story. Tuesday, Infantino announces the Forward Enterprise: the World Cup’s commercial rights moved into a $20 billion company, a $4.2 billion raise through J.P. Morgan, associations reportedly offered up to $40 million to vote yes. He announced it as a done thing, priced and bankered, before consulting the Council his own statutes require.
By Thursday, all 55 UEFA members had approved a boycott of FIFA competitions. Hours later, Concacaf’s 41 rejected it in writing and instructed their Council members to remind the president that matters must follow proper governance processes in accordance with the FIFA Statutes. Now the Asian Football Confederation, 47 members who have historically been his base, says do not proceed, and calls for FIFA to undertake an urgent review of its governance.
Confederations do not ask for governance reviews of plans. They ask for governance reviews of people.
The math is finished. Infantino needed 106 of 211 votes on September 19. There are now 143 organized against him. But the math was never the real damage. The real damage is what the week revealed.
Because he loved his wife, he shared everything with her and he l0st everything he ever worked for after the divorce.
After finalizing their divorce, basketballer Iman Shumpert will give his wife, Teyana Taylor, over $25 million.
She will get:
-$10-million in cash
-4 houses worth $10-million
-Luxury cars: A Maybach worth $300k, A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter worth $80k, and A Tour Bus worth $700k
-Pay $8,000 every month to take care of their kids
-Pay for their school and hospital bills
When they were married, Iman put all his money in a joint account. Now, after the divorce, he has about $2 million left and no house and Teyana Taylor will also keep her own businesses.
It was at that moment he knew he fvcked up.
"Had I known" is the last comment of a f00l.
This whole FIFA privatization plan thing shows that the average black man has no value, passion or loyalty for anything except money.
UEFA has already opposed the plan.
CAF on the other hand said they want to “assess and evaluate”. What are you evaluating? I'm sure it's definitely the financial benefits!
And our brother has already backed the plan because of its “benefits” 😩 These people no even care if Nigeria win world cup or even qualify sef, as long as the FIFA benefits keep accruing - all is well.
Omo! If na me be White Man, I go recolonize the black man, abeg. It's too easy.
