From lost and broke to building a US trucking business from Pakistan. I write and make long-form YouTube videos about money and the mindset underneath it.
But what is the government facilitating for the people who are bringing in that much foreign exchange?
Pakistan's freelancers and IT exporters are generating billions despite the system, not because of it. Many still face payment gateway restrictions, banking hurdles, foreign transaction limitations, taxation confusion, and difficulties accessing global financial infrastructure.
I run a U.S.-focused company from Pakistan. Every dollar we bring into the country requires navigating challenges that many competing countries have already solved. If we can reach these numbers under these conditions, imagine the growth potential if policymakers focused on reducing friction for exporters instead of simply celebrating the results.
This year, freelancers of 🇵🇰🇵🇰 will bring in $1.75 Billion for the country.
More than $1 Billion of these are related to IT freelancers.
IT export companies and IT freelancers are now bringing in $5Bn each year ✅✅
This was on a Pakistani bank’s website, and there is so much wrong with how this message is framed.
“Shop Now, Pay Later.
“The road to financial freedom.”
“Upgrade your lifestyle effortlessly.”
On the surface, it looks normal. A bank is offering installment plans, 0% markup, easy monthly payments, and access to products that people may not be able to buy upfront.
But the deeper problem is not the installment plan itself.
The deeper problem is the definition of financial freedom being sold to us.
We are slowly being trained to believe that financial freedom means having access to more things. A better phone, a better laptop, a better TV, better furniture, better appliances, and a better-looking lifestyle.
And because everything is broken into monthly payments, it stops feeling expensive.
A product that costs Rs. 300,000 does not feel like Rs. 300,000 anymore. It starts feeling like “only Rs. 12,000 per month.”
That is where the psychology works.
They are not just selling you a product. They are selling you the emotion of an upgraded life. They are telling you that you can feel successful today, even if your future income has to pay for it tomorrow.
And this is where many people get trapped.
One installment feels manageable. Then another one feels manageable. Then another one feels manageable. But slowly, your salary starts getting divided before it even reaches your account.
You are working today to pay for decisions you made months ago.
That is not financial freedom.
That is financial pressure presented as lifestyle improvement.
Real financial freedom is not the ability to buy everything you want on installments.
Real financial freedom is having control over your income. It is having savings when something goes wrong. It is not panicking when an emergency comes. It is being able to say no to things because you are not trying to prove your lifestyle to anyone.
Sometimes a 0% markup product may make practical sense. If you genuinely need something for work, if the payment fits your budget, and if you already have your emergency fund and basic savings in place, then it is a tool.
But when installments become a way to afford a lifestyle you have not actually earned yet, then it becomes a trap.
The wrong definition of financial freedom is: “I can buy more.”
The real definition is: “I have more control.”
Control over my money. Control over my choices. Control over my peace. Control over my future income.
That is the road to financial freedom.
Not upgrading your lifestyle effortlessly, but building a life where your money stops controlling you.
Just sharing my small experience investing through this war:
I kept putting money in every month, same as always.
Maybe I was "buying the dip," who knows. But the real confidence didn’t come from predicting the market or know the cycles.
It came from my income staying steady. When your paycheck is reliable, market swings don’t mess with your head as much.
I see so many people burning mental energy trying to squeeze out an extra 2-3% on returns.
Sometimes that same energy is way better spent figuring out how to grow your income by 20-30%.
Returns matter, but your income is the engine.
I run a trucking business in the USA while sitting here in Pakistan.
Over the years, I have generated over $30 million in gross revenue for my clients, and helped grow one company from 2 trucks to 20 trucks which is now doing around $2 million a year in revenue.
But it was not always like this.
In 2018, I was broke. 0 rupees. No direction in life.
Depressed.
I still remember crying in front of my mother after quitting my Master’s from FAST Islamabad, because I genuinely did not know where my life was going.
At that time, if someone told me that one day I would be running a trucking business, working with clients in the USA, making videos, and sharing my journey online.. I probably would not have believed them.
But looking back now, I understand something.
Your life does not change in one big https://t.co/1EWMiCGXF3 changes through small things.
Small decisions. Small habits. Small lessons.
Small painful experiences that slowly build you into the person you need to become.
Allah does not just hand you everything you ask for.
With His limitless wisdom, He first makes you capable of handling what you are praying for.
Sometimes before your life upgrades, you have to upgrade first.
Your patience. Your mindset. Your discipline. Your character.
Your ability to keep showing up when nothing makes sense.
And that is why I make these videos. Not because I have everything figured out.
But because I know what it feels like to be lost, hopeless, confused, and still trying to find a way.
So if you are struggling right now, with no clear direction, remember this:
Maybe Allah is not ignoring you. Maybe He is preparing you.
Maybe He is changing you first, so you can handle the life He has written for you.
Just keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep working.
Keep making small improvements.
Because one day, all those small things will compound and you will look back and realize that even the painful parts were part of the story Allah was writing for you.
@Umairorkz That’s the problem with low-intellect people like you. When you get called out, you start calling others idiots. I genuinely feel for the people who follow you. Mr. 50% Right.
Last month, Nissan sold its 60-year-old manufacturing plant in South Africa.
The buyer? Chery. A Chinese automaker most people outside Asia have never even heard of.
Nissan's sales in South Africa dropped 32% in a single year. Chery's grew 27%. You don't need an MBA to see where that was heading.
But this isn't about one factory. This is a pattern playing out across every continent and almost nobody is connecting the dots.
In Australia, Chinese car brands went from 2.7% of the market in 2020 to 19% by end of 2025. Four Chinese brands broke into the top 10 bestsellers for the first time ever, knocking out names like Nissan, Subaru, and Volkswagen.
In the UK, Chinese automakers sold over 200,000 vehicles last year. One brand called Jaecoo outsold Citroen in its very first year in the market. A brand most Europeans couldn't even pronounce 18 months ago.
In Pakistan, the story hits even closer to home. Suzuki, Honda, and Toyota sold the same outdated stripped-down cars for decades because they had no real competition. Then Chinese competitors showed up with better specs at lower prices and flipped the entire market. Sazgar that positioned itself early with a Chinese partnership with GWM, saw its stock go up roughly 5,900%.
Now look at the United States. They've stacked 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs. Banned connected vehicle software from China. Put up every wall they can think of.
And Chinese companies are still everywhere in the supply chain, batteries, components, rare earth minerals, manufacturing equipment. The walls slow things down but they don't change the direction.
Most people look at this and think it's about cheap cars from China flooding markets.
It's not.
This is about a country that spent two decades building entire manufacturing ecosystems from the ground up from lithium mining to battery production to final assembly, while most legacy automakers were focused on next quarter's earnings call.
The auto industry is just the most visible version of this story. The same thing is happening in solar, semiconductors, telecom, infrastructure, and shipping.
If you've read Ray Dalio's work on how world orders shift, this is exactly what he talks about. Rising powers don't announce themselves with a single moment. They win through manufacturing dominance, cost advantages, and relentless reinvestment over decades while the existing powers are busy protecting what they already have instead of building what comes next.
That's not a prediction. That's the pattern of every major economic power shift in history.
And whether you run a business, manage investments, or are making career decisions understanding this shift is not optional anymore.
The countries and companies that adapt early will build the next decade.
The ones that only build walls will watch their 60-year-old factories get sold to the people they were trying to keep out.
The most successful people I know are miserable.
Not because they failed. Because they won the wrong game.
And I've realized the reaoson why that happens, after listening to @AlexHormozi and @TonyRobbins podcast.
There are two completely different skills in life.
1. The Science of Achievement
2. The Art of Fulfillment
The Science of Achievement is a formula. Set a goal. Learn the steps. Work hard. Execute. Repeat.
Want money? There's a formula.
Want a degree? There's a formula.
Want a business? There's a formula.
It's called "science" because it's predictable. Follow the recipe, get the result.
Most people think THIS is the hard part.
It's not.
The hard part is what comes after you achieve everything and still feel empty.
That's where the Art of Fulfillment begins.
It's called "art" for a reason. There is no formula. No recipe. No step-by-step course.
Art is personal. What fulfills you will not fulfill me. Your father's definition of a good life might suffocate you. Society's definition of success might leave you hollow.
You have to create your own.
That's why it's art because no one can hand it to you. You have to design it yourself.
I see people every day who cracked the science.
Big salary. Nice car. House. Investments.
But they wake up anxious. They scroll for hours. They feel stuck. They can't explain why they're unhappy when everything looks perfect from outside.
The answer is simple: they mastered the science but never started the art.
Achievement without fulfillment is the most common form of failure.
And fulfillment without achievement is just a dream.
You need both. But start by asking yourself:
Am I chasing someone else's formula? Or am I designing my own life?
When you save money, it’s not that you aren't spending it. It just means someone in the future is going to spend it instead.
The problem is, you don’t know that person. You don’t know what he looks like, what he’s thinking, or what his financial condition is.
and that person is your Future Self.
Every extra amount you spend today is basically stealing from that future version of you that you haven't met yet.
So right now, I’m planning for 3 specific "Future Zeeshans":
1. Father Zeeshan: I’m planning for him so he can send his daughter to the best universities in the world without even thinking about the fees.
2. Retired Zeeshan: I’m planning for him so he has enough money to never rely on anyone else when he stops working.
3. Free Zeeshan: I’m planning for him so he never has to worry about expenses. He just lives his life with who he wants, how he wants, and wherever he wants.
Your future versions might look different than mine, but the planning has to start today.
If you want to see exactly how I’m planning for these 3 future selfs, watch my latest video. Link in the first comment.
It’s the end of 2025 and I’ve realized something concerning.
Most people still have zero idea how to invest. Even surprisingly, many don't understand why they need to.
We are ignoring the fact that Pakistan’s market is severely undervalued. There are serious rumors of international interest and foreign money looking at our sectors. The potential is there, but we need to step up and own our companies to increase their valuation before outsiders do.
Huge respect to @ARNOfficiall , @sarmaayapk , @theammarsid, @Finqalab_@NuktaBusiness for pushing this narrative and raising awarness so that we have more people understanding how it all works.
But remember, like i always say and thats a key part of my content is that Investing is just one variable. It’s not the magic pill. Investing alone won’t make you Financial Free if the rest of your financial equation is broken.
Financial Freedom is more than just investing. More on that in some other content piece if people read more of my content here on X, LOL
"Invest 25k Rs per month and you will be a crore pati in 20 years."
Every financial educator in Pakistan is giving us this same plan to become financially free. But I don't think this is accurate.
The major population of Pakistan can't save up enough money, and even if they can invest for a few years, they can't consistently invest for 20 years.
20 years is a long time. A lot can happen. A slight misfortune can stop that "SIP" and even force you to take that invested amount out.
They are teaching us Personal Finance like it's math with an exact answer, but personal finance is personal for a reason. It is more of an art.
That's why I say you can't achieve financial freedom unless you redesign your whole life. That includes your habits, mindset, knowledge, income, and lastly, investing.
If you can't increase your income, no amount of investing or SIP can save you. You have to improve your habits, increase your knowledge, and try to learn different things.
There is no shortcut.
