The Alberta independence question is here, but the path forward is more complicated than many expected.

The instinct is to move directly to a clear independence vote. But the Sylvestre decision has changed the legal landscape and created a serious risk that an immediate up-or-down vote could be challenged before Albertans ever get a final say.

The goal has not changed.

Alberta still needs a clear vote on a clear question.

What has changed is the route to get there. A two-step process may now be the most realistic way to protect the vote, build support, and give the independence movement time to organize properly.

The fight is not over.

It is becoming more serious.

Chief Allan Adam is the lead voice of the First Nations coalition that brought the legal challenge that killed the citizen-led Alberta separation petition. He went on CBC to celebrate the ruling. He called it a "great win for Canada and for democracy."

But here is what CBC didn't ask him about.

Chief Allan receives foreign interference money. The Tides Foundation is a left-wing lobby organization based in San Francisco who wired $55,000 directly to Chief Allan Adam's bank account to oppose the oil sands.

Shortly after receiving that money, Adam flew to Toronto to sit on a stage next to Neil Young to publicly demonize Canada's energy industry.

CBC themselves reported that various American funders contributed an estimated $40 million to Canadian environmental and Indigenous groups with one specific goal.... to landlock Alberta crude by blocking pipeline construction. Researcher Vivian Krauss attributed the cancellation of Northern Gateway, Energy East, Keystone, and Trans Mountain directly to this coordinated American-funded campaign.

Chief Allan Adam was part of that campaign. He gladly took the money. This is real foreign interference in Canada's energy economy. And the same man who took American money to block Canadian prosperity is now the man leading the charge to block Albertans from having a democratic vote on their own future.

Meanwhile he REAPS the benefits of tax payer money from the very same industry profits.

The Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation's own audited financial statements tell a story that Chief Adam did not mention once during his CBC interview.

Combined with existing assets and real estate holdings, the band is sitting on close to $300 million. And the registered population of this band? 1,567 people total. With only 33 people living on reserve.

That works out to roughly $9 million per person on reserve and Canadian taxpayers are still sending them $10 million a year plus a $100 million lump sum payout.

Meanwhile this reserve has no public accounting of money spent since 2021. That's five years of missing financial disclosures. No accountability. No transparency. And the money keeps flowing.

Chief Adam has been doing this for years:

2018 — The National Post reported his complaints were complicating the Liberal review of the Frontier Oil Sands mine. The Alberta government publicly stated his concerns were about money, not environment.

2018 — Despite publicly criticizing fossil fuel developers and hosting anti-oil activists including Leonardo DiCaprio, Adam signed a benefit agreement with Teck after what he described as positive negotiations. His opposition was for sale.

2020 — Adam was stopped by RCMP outside a Fort McMurray casino for an expired license plate, resisted arrest, and publicly accused the officers of "racist" treatment. The RCMP was cleared. No evidence of misconduct was found.

Chief Allan Adam did not vote against Alberta separation. He did not organize Albertans to vote against it. He went to court to make sure Albertans never got to vote on it at all.

Over 300,000 Albertans signed that petition. They followed the law. They used the exact democratic mechanism the Legislature created for them. And a judge threw every one of those signatures in the garbage.

A man taking money from foreign interference organizations who also massively benefits from Alberta prosperity is taking democratic rights away from Albertans.

Yet he thinks this is a "win for democracy."

Canadians you are being scammed in every way possible.

I spoke to a 26-year-old Edmontonian yesterday regarding some business matters and he asked me a question.

"So, who are you routing for in the playoffs?"

I said, "The Oilers. It's time."

So, I said, "You asked me a question, so are you ok if you let me ask you a question?"

"Sure," he said.

"In October 2026, are you voting YES in the upcoming referendum to become an independent Republic of Alberta?"

So, he said, "Is that a real thing? I really didn't know about it. I really should look into this and research it to understand it more. Right now, I'm not sure. The only thing I know is that it seemed that Alberta was better off when Stephen Harper was Prime Minister and at that point, I was just a kid, so I really don't understand the big picture."

So, after a few minutes of me educating him on the matrix he is living in, and that Alberta stands today as a place where there is taxation without representation and how the Westminster system does not serve Albertans, he googled me and realized who I was.

Then he said, "I will definitely look into this. My future is important."

Just remember this everyone.

There are still 1000's if not 100s of 1000's of Albertans who still know nothing about what's at stake and may not show up at the voting booth in October.

Go to every door. Find an opportunity to ask them if they know anything about it.

If you don't, the matrix wins.

A lot of Albertans are still stuck in the middle right now.

They know Ottawa has been bad for Alberta. They know the country keeps moving in the wrong direction. They know our province gets ignored, talked down to, regulated to death, and then told to be grateful for it.

But they’re still hanging onto one last hope: maybe the CPC will fix it next time. Maybe if we just vote harder, wait longer, knock more doors, send more money, and trust the federal machine one more time, somehow th next time will be different.

And then what happens?

You vote Conservative, and the person you helped elect crosses the floor and helps the other side anyway.

That’s the part a lot of people are struggling to come to terms with. It’s not just dissapointment. It’s the feeling that your vote was borrowed, used, and then handed to people you were trying to stop. It makes people feel politically homeless. Like no matter how clearly Alberta votes, somebody else still ends up steering the car.

That is exactly why more people are starting to look at Alberta independence seriously.

Not because they’re crazy.
Not because they hate everybody else.
Not because they think it’s easy.

But because they’re starting to realize that if your democratic will can always be absorbed, redirected, neutralized, or flat out ignored inside this system, then the system is the problem.

A lot of fence-sitters still think independence is too drastic, but continuing down the current path is drastic too. Watching your province vote one way over and over while power flows somewhere else is drastic. Sending representatives to Ottawa and then watching them switch teams after the fact is drastic. Being told to sit down, shut up, and wait for the next election while your future gets negotiated away is drastic.

So yes, this meme is aimed at the middle person.

The decent conservative Albertan who still wants to believe federal politics can save us.
The person who keeps thinking maybe one more election will turn it around.
The person who knows something is badly broken, but isn’t ready to say out loud what that might mean yet.

At some point you have to ask yourself a simple question:

If Alberta keeps voting for change and never gets it, then what exactly are we participating in?

Oct 19 vote for independence will be the first time in Canadian history when an Albertan’s vote counts for something. Not a vote filtered through Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec, party strategists, media narratives, and backroom deals. A direct vote on our own future. A vote where Albertans are not just choosing which federal brand gets to manage our decline, but whether we want to keep living under a setup where our voice can be overridden forever.

That’s why this matters.

The people in the middle need to stop pretending the old playbook still works.

How many betrayals are enough?
How many “next elections” are enough?
How many times do Albertans have to vote for one thing and get the opposite before we admit this isn’t representation?

I am just someone who realized I did not have enough information, so I went to listen.

What I saw last night surprised me. Not because of anger or extremism, but because of how many regular people showed up to ask questions and be heard.

Whether you want something to happen or you do not, it works the same way. Open dialogue. Listen. Talk to each other!!

From what I saw, this conversation has a very real chance of going to a vote. And no matter which side you are on, being informed and having all of the information matters.

Women and girls have the right to play competitive sports in a safe and fair environment against other biological females.

This view is held by a vast majority of Albertans and Canadians. It is also common sense and common decency.

Skate Canada‘s refusal to hold events in Alberta because we choose to protect women and girls in sport is disgraceful.

We expect they will apologize and adjust their policies once they realize they are not only compromising the fairness and safety of their athletes, but are also offside with the international community, including the International Olympic Committee, which is moving in the same direction as Alberta.

This is a friendly reminder that the RCMP told Canadians and the world it couldn't stop Chinese foreign interference or money laundering, due to a lack of resources.

Then in 2025 the RCMP deployed upwards of 100 officers over 3 different shifts at the Universal Ostrich farm for an extended period of time.

All as a show of force to protect the CFIA, who then savagely slaughtered 300+ ostriches in rural BC shooting them in the dark, with ammunition that guaranteed many of the birds would suffer serious injury & slowly die.

That same CFIA that wouldn't test the ostriches for H5N1 decided not to cull peacocks nearby in BC because they tested negative for H5N1.

So can we all stop pretending our police and government are protecting us? They're actually protecting the CCP, big pharma & the Libera government.

We pay for all of these clowns. Disgraceful.
