@ChrisRGun I'm not one to spend that much money on a game, even if I really wanted to play it I'd wait for a sale. That said I prefer games to be in the range of 5-10h and just be replayable, I like it more when a game respects my time
@fromsoftserve@imnotwhoyuothnk Because its lacking in personality and presence, at least compared to other games' final boss encounter. I think Elden Beast handles a similar concept a bit better given you still have to actually fight a character that represents the status quo before you go on to fight it
@fromsoftserve@imnotwhoyuothnk I won't tell you you're wrong though, I do see the appeal of a boss that represents the journey of many linkers of fire before you. Personally I like it more when the story is a bit more contained to this individual cycle like they did with a lot of bosses in DS2
@fromsoftserve@imnotwhoyuothnk I get that but it feels like a cop out to me, it feels like a faceless blob that represents a concept than a real entity. Gael is genuinely cool because you have history with him, and even absent your fight with him he feels like a real character in the universe for comparison
@fromsoftserve@imnotwhoyuothnk The fight is really cool, it's my third favorite in the game. but the lack of history with the boss and any kind of interesting lore just leaves it with a lot less of an impression vs a boss like the Pontiff, especially since its supposed to be the final boss of the series
@Jetifyed2077@biggieU_U One of the coolest challenges I've done in any game. Discovering that you don't actually need to use long fuse dynamites for the cazadors but you only need to have them equipped when a bomb kills them was funny as hell.
@KitexKite From that spot I don't know. Fwiw your char jumps further if you have lower equipload so if you unequip everything maybe its possible from there
@lesbianwylder I usually do it from the Drangliec one because it has 4 enemies vs the others that have 6 each (and tend to be longer). you just gotta learn hwo to fight havel and the rest are free. The pyromancer esp can be cheesed into the hole she spawns next to.
@Vacio3012 It's literally just how each game presents its mechanic. DS2's main theme is about Hollowing so it presents hollowing as slowly eating away at you. Hollowing doesn't exist in DS3 in the same way so it presents it as a boost. Mechanically and functionally its the same exact thing.
@Vacio3012@TheZooted1@CharismaMyDude Limit Breaks has a very good video delving into fall damage and in his testing he delves into how its calculated and compares being embered and unembered in it.

@Vacio3012@TheZooted1@CharismaMyDude Do you know that the game calculates effects that are based on your HP based on your max HP while embered? It doesn't care if you're embered or not to do it
@Vacio3012@TheZooted1@CharismaMyDude If I make a mod that keeps your DS2 HP scaling exactly the same, just changes the HP bar visually so you don't see the bits you're missing when you're hollowed it would be the same exact thing.
@Vacio3012@TheZooted1@CharismaMyDude You're losing 30% of your max HP if you die in DS3. The visual effect is hidden from you and its functionally the same thing as dying 6 times in DS2. You're literally being tricked by the game hiding the missing HP bar from you..
