@NYGovCuomo Is NYS testing for the 501Y.V2 variant discovered in South Africa that spreads rapidly and some vaccines might be less effective against? #COVID19@NYGovCuomo
@thoughtsofaphd Hiiii I’m Zelda - a PhD candidate in the Mano Lab at CUNY. I study transcriptional mechanisms of neuroprotection from excitotoxic necrosis. Taking it one day at a time and just trying to maintain some sanity through all the ups & downs pursuing a PhD!
@probably_joyce Maybe if proteomics assays had comparable precision and sensitivity as transcriptomics assays but they don’t at the moment. Proteomics with #Celegans research is quite difficult and definitely not as sensitive as transcriptomics! @drdevangm

How long before graduation is the best time to start applying for postdoc positions? Do some (neuro/bio) labs have a waitlist? #AcademicChatter@AcademicChatter
@dumpyunc@maxwellheiman@AcademicChatter This is really good to be aware of- thank you so for the info Steve! Hopefully some of these things will change in the future
