Virgil van Dijk on Jürgen Klopp's impact on his career:
🗣️ “Before Klopp, I was a good defender. A solid defender.
But Klopp didn't see me as what I was he saw me as what I could become.
The moment I arrived at Liverpool, he gave me responsibility, trust and belief. Not just as a player, but as a leader.
He challenged me every day to be better, to demand more from myself and from everyone around me.
People see the trophies, the Champions League, the Premier League and the individual awards.
What they don't see are the conversations, the standards and the confidence he gave me behind the scenes.
Klopp never treated me like a £75 million signing. He treated me like the defender who could change Liverpool's future.
That belief changes everything for a player.
People say I became one of the best defenders of my generation at Liverpool.
The truth is that Klopp created an environment where I had no choice but to become one.
When people call me one of the greatest defenders the Premier League has ever seen, a huge part of that credit belongs to him.
Because great managers don't just improve players.
They make players believe they can become something bigger than they ever imagined.”
Benda bodoh.
Kita tak pernah kurang jururawat. Kita boleh hasilkan beribu jururawat setiap tahun.
Tapi jururawat ini, pindah luar. Kenapa? Gaji tak setimpal.
Kalau bidang professional pun dah mula masuk orang luar, masak kita.
Andoni Iraola on choosing Liverpool:
🗣️ “The moment Liverpool called me, the decision became very difficult to ignore. Because opportunities like this don't come around often in football. We're talking about one of the biggest clubs the game has ever seen. A club that carries history, expectation and greatness everywhere it goes.
From the outside, everyone knows Liverpool. Everyone knows Anfield. Everyone knows the trophies. But when you start learning more about the club, you realise it's even bigger than you imagined. There is something special about it.
Liverpool is not a club that needs to convince people. It doesn't need presentations. It doesn't need sales pitches. Liverpool is Liverpool. The badge speaks for itself. The history speaks for itself. The supporters speak for themselves.
Then you look at the atmosphere. You look at the fans. You look at the quality in the squad. You look at the opportunity to coach elite players every day and compete for the biggest trophies in football. For any ambitious manager, that is incredibly difficult to turn down.
I am excited because this is a challenge. But it's also an opportunity. An opportunity to write my own chapter at one of football's greatest clubs. The expectations are huge. The pressure is huge. But those are exactly the reasons why I wanted to be here.”
🚨 Andoni Iraola: “I am really excited, really excited. Because obviously you know about Liverpool, you know that it’s a big club, a massive club, one of the biggest in the world”.
“But feeling inside and understanding a little bit more of this club, I always thought it’s a special club. You don’t need a lot of things to get attracted by Liverpool. Liverpool is Liverpool”
“But obviously the atmosphere, the supporters, the club, the players, the chance for me to coach top-level players, the chance to fight for titles. I think it cannot be more attractive than this. It’s difficult to find it. So, really excited to start”.
Arsenal had a corner on the stroke of half time and the referee said to take it quickly before he blows the whistle.
Bukayo Saka then walked so slowly to the corner flag and just as he was about to take it, the ref blew his whistle for half time. 😭
Jürgen Klopp on seeing Liverpool fans online asking him to return one day:
🗣️ “Sometimes I see Liverpool fans online saying: ‘Jürgen, please come back one day.’
Honestly… those messages touch me more than people realise.
Because when you give everything to a club emotionally, you never truly disconnect from it. Liverpool became part of my life, part of my family, part of who I am.
And first of all, I will always respect Arne Slot for what he achieved winning the league two seasons ago was incredible and he deserves huge credit for that.
But last season was painful for many supporters because Liverpool standards are different. This club is supposed to fight, dominate, make Europe fear them.
Sometimes I imagine it walking back into Anfield again, hearing the crowd, feeling that energy, feeling that connection one more time.
And when I see fans asking for a comeback, deep down, I understand the emotion behind it.
Because some stories in football don’t feel finished… no matter how much time passes.”
