THE FIRST FILIPINO RESIDENT OF SESAME STREET π
Sesame Street featured the first ever Filipino-American muppet on the kidβs show!
βMeet TJ! TJ is a second generation Filipino-American boy, and a proud kuya (older brother) to his baby sister. He's learning to speak Tagalog with his grandparents, and he is so proud when he gets to put it to use when his family comes to visit from California, where his parents are from. He loves it when they all get together so he can help his mom make lumpia with all the veggies he picked, and so he can play basketball and have a dance off with his cousins,β the showβs Facebook post read.
TJ was first introduced in 2023 and was created by Filipino-American animator Bobby Pontillas through a collaboration with puppeteer Louis Mitchell. (Facebook/Sesame Street)
We may be busy but we should remind ourselves to check on our friends if they are okay. Life is short. A simple "hello" won't take so much of our time.
It's been a week since and I miss New York City. I an definitely going back this November for an "Autumn in New York. So many places to visit and Broadway shows to watch.
