The claim is simpler, if full-time labor is necessary to produce essentials, then full-time labor should be sufficient to afford them at baseline. That’s a design question, not a moral one.

That’s why a system where full-time work can’t afford essentials is misaligned by definition. Labels don’t fix that outcomes do.
