Do not get shocked when the leaders you treat like gods today start believing and acting on it tomorrow. Africans ourselves are often to blame for the Big Man syndrome.
@BuyoyaJonah There was a person that asked Obama about the MNBA and Oabma just moved on and answered her unbothered. No big deal - ones for men ones for women.
@sherwiebp I was just at a vibrant Colombia embassy event last week commemorating 216 yrs of independence in Addis Ethiopia and it was very well turned out. Colombia shutting its Addis embassy will also spell its departure from continental Africa. Pretty unfortunate.

📢Breaking: The race for the next UN Secretary-General has a late entrant
The new nominee for UN's top job is from Africa, despite the fact that under the informal principle of regional rotation, to which the Africa grpup ordinarily attaches importance, the turn for fielding candidates is that of the Caribbean and Latin America group.
In a letter addressed to the President of the UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council on 24 July, Uganda's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador @adoniaayebare announced Uganda's nomination of Olara Otunnu (see picture) for position of UN Secretary-General.
Mr Otunnu's camdidacy will increase the list of candidates to succeed @antonioguterres to seven.
As the second candidate from Africa, one of the issues this candidacy raises, like the one of Macky Sall, is whether the importance that African states attache to regional rotation is disappearing. It is worth noting that so far Africa is the only region outside of the Caribbean and Latin America to field candidates.
It is to be recalled that the UN General Assembly Town Hall with the candidates was held on 23 July. As a late entrant, he faces a disadvantage of making up for the opporunity that other canfidates had in campaigning.
The timing of his entrace into the race comes just before the first UN Secrurity Council Straw Poll scheduled for 30 July 2026. More than anything else, the role of the UNSC is the most decisive aspect of the selection process.
It is anticipated that the straw poll by the UNSC offers the first most significant indication on the prospects that candidates have for securing what is at times called 'the most impossible job on earth.'

@touristeagle1 BM has functionally conceded defeat in southern western and n/western and gambling on the north eastern vote. Meanwhile HH will slice even provinces he’ll lose in. Even Sata campaigned in opponent strongholds. BM has simply not bothered.
@touristeagle1 I have said this before- HH knows opposition more than any major politician today - presence matters. And the stamina needs to be peak - in 2021 Lungu did virtual rallies and opened infrastructure meanwhile HH was visiting 3 districts/day dancing in remote villages.
@DrCh0nya It’s like you’re in an emotionally combative mode and can’t even swallow any nuance or complexity so you just pull out BS and pelt insults. Like you’re so prepared to disagree you forget the argument partially agrees with you 😂. Pitiful really.
@DrCh0nya 😂Your point was passing many bills in little time has never happened & you refute Kenya so here. Nigeria passed 113 const. amendments in 72 hrs (2025)(more than 🇿🇲, less time); Pakistan 54 bills in 4 days (2023). Not a world first you see. But ofc hard to reason with you clearly
