@Ndrly We're doing both. I figured best start with the movie that inspired the full length version, not to mention ironically kick started Burtons career post Disney before they eventually welcomed him back. It's both a heartwarming Halloween and an FU Disney story I'm one.
So was Sparky decapitated in the car accident and Victor sewed his head back on, or did Victor actually chop his head off to insert the bolts and wires before sewing it back on? Either way, that's insanely morbid #Frankenweenie
One last thing I can't help but comment on...why is this called #Frankenweenie exactly? He's a bull terrier, not a dachshund. If anything it should be called Frankenbull or Frankenterrier. Heck even Frankendog would've been generic enough to work. This is false advertising.
Overall, I still very much enjoyed it and still consider this film a Halloween classic. Looking forward to reviewing it with @Zenith_BunSquad and getting in the Spooky mood early #Frankenweenie
Will say, the abundance of animal cruelty, especially where the cat is involved, does rub me the wrong way. Not to mention how Victor is made out to be a weirdo when his classmates are far worse then him. #Frankenweenie
And done. Definitely an improvement over the original thou I question some choices. Love the horror references and it's definitely scarier visual wise then the original. I just wish the claymation cgi was better in making the characters emote more #Frankenweenie
So instead of blaming the giant turtle, the giant sea monkeys or giant rat, they blame the normal looking dog? God the neighbors are even stupider in this version #Frankenweenie
So lightning can not only bring animals back to life, but mutate them, fuse them and even make them grow giant? Starting to think the real problem is this town secretly being built on top of a toxic waste dump #Frankenweenie
Watching that cat mutate into a bat creature and hearing it's bones break and contort is easily one of the most disturbing aspects of this film #Frankenweenie
One detriment to making this movie with claymation is the utter lack of facial expressions. Barely anyone emotes beyond their default face and it's kind of annoying cause we know Burton has done better with earlier movies #Frankenweenie
