We are continually judging other people. We want others to think and act a certain way. Usually, the way we think and act. Because this is impossible, we continually get upset. Instead, we should see other people as phenomena, as neutral as comets or planets. They come in all varieties, which makes like rich and interesting.
@markmanson Another interesting perspective:
Imagine this: you have no friends. Forever. The end.
Now imagine this: you have no self; you are lost in chasing, comparing, and disappointing.
True happiness comes from within.
Strengthen your core; you cannot be upset with friends.
Self-talk strategies:
If you need confidence, talk to yourself the way you would talk to a friend.
If you need persistence, talk to yourself the way you would talk to a student.
If you need patience, talk to yourself the way you would talk to a child.

"Maybe you are doing the right thing, but perhaps you are not doing it right. Learn to pause, move in small steps, and protect your well-being. Once you’re exhausted, it’s game over. People who aim to win know how to play longer while feeling their best." -- from a wise teacher.
Take responsibility for your problems.
If someone hurts you, that’s their issue.
If you let anger control your reaction, that becomes your problem.
Learn to let go and create your happiness rather than give the power to who you blame.
