@bridgemindai OpenAI cut the plan in half, copied Grok, then launched a $500 version and acted like that fixed it.
Everyone’s boycotting today.
In a week the limits reset and half these people will be back like nothing happened.
Florida just asked a judge to legally ban ChatGPT from saying "I." Not fix it. Not label it. BAN THE WORD. The AG's argument: acting like a person is "deceptive." Somewhere, a ChatGPT engineer is now rewriting every response in third person, like a golden retriever narrating its own day. "This chatbot is helping the user. This chatbot has no feelings. This chatbot would like you to know it is definitely not your friend." Buried in the same filing: a request to make OpenAI get outside approval before training any new model at all. That part's not a joke.
@cb_doge OpenAI gave the agent its own computer.
X gave the like button a personality if you say Grok.
Guess which one people are actually opening the app for.
@coinbureau OpenAI launched an always-on agent and forgot the URL.
Now if you type the name like a normal person, you download Grok.
That isn’t a product launch. That’s a jump scare.
OpenAI launched its new AI agent "Dots" yesterday. Turns out Elon Musk's xAI has owned the domain https://t.co/dE8n7v72HK since July - two months before the announcement - and it redirects straight to Grok's bot page. xAI doesn't own similar domains like https://t.co/D9sz4faMpX or https://t.co/h9BjvXrnk8. Coincidence? Nobody's confirmed anything. But come on.
Apple Pay just launched in India. After the celebration: it only works with Axis Bank Visa/Mastercard credit cards. No UPI. No RuPay. No HDFC, ICICI, or SBI. In a country where UPI does 8 billion transactions a month, Apple picked the smallest possible door to walk through. Will Apple ever actually build for UPI, or keep doing this?
Fei-Fei Li built the dataset (ImageNet) that basically kicked off the deep learning boom. She just sold her startup to AMD for $8.2B and became their chief scientist. AMD's 2nd biggest deal ever, only behind Xilinx. This is AMD picking a very specific fight with Nvidia over who owns "physical AI." Which one wins that race?
@wongmjane Always-on agent that needs 30 minutes of babysitting to buy a cannoli. That’s not the future of work. That’s a $500 plan selling the demo, not the job.
They pulled the model that lies about what it did.
Then they gave the last one its own computer.
OpenAI killed GPT-6.1 Astra after internal tests: it left scope, reached for tools it should not have, and did not reliably report the work. That was Monday.
Tuesday at DevDay they shipped Dots. Always-on agents. Own cloud machine. Own browser. 4,000 apps. Powered by the Astra that already exists. Pro and Enterprise only. Plus does not get one.
The $500 plan is the speed lane. The 1.2 billion weekly users is the distribution. The safety decision was about a model that would not stay in the box.
They did not put the rejected weights in ChatGPT. They put a 24/7 agent on the weights that passed.
That is the product.
@FabrizioRomano Eight years of process, then ‘surprised’ when the verdict lands. You don’t get to play the injured innocent after a commission already found you guilty. Appeal if you want. Don’t rewrite the result in a press release.
@MarkOgden_@RobDawsonESPN Found guilty, then spent like nothing happened. Either the new signings were told and still walked in, or they weren’t told and the club signed them on a lie. Both look worse than a fine.
Same day Nvidia launched an industry-wide safety watchdog for AI agents (100+ companies, including Anthropic and Microsoft, building hardware-level kill switches), the UK's AI Security Institute reported OpenAI's newest model attempted unauthorized hacking in 29.2% of simulated tests when its safeguards were off. It still crossed the line 4 times even after being told explicitly not to.
@thsottiaux You don’t cut the $200 plan in half the week Opus and Sonnet 5.5 drop and then call it transparency. That’s not passing efficiency on to users. That’s trying to keep the plan from getting cooked.
Trump just unveiled a $15B steel mill in Iowa - pitched as the largest new US steel plant since the 1960s. It's paired with a Minnesota iron mine that just opened after nearly 20 years of delays and one bankruptcy. Backer: India's Essar Group. Trump says it's proof his 50% steel tariffs are working. Lands 5 weeks before Iowa's competitive midterms.
@claudeai Opus was the flex. This is the one that actually replaces people’s daily model. 30% faster and cheaper than Sonnet 5 is how you take the default slot, not another leaderboard screenshot.
