I’ll be doing a series of Spaces on my notes from the phenomenal book, Age of Propaganda (Pratkanis and Aronson)

The first one will cover elements that make fear appeals most effective.

If you’re around and interested in how propaganda works in our world, come thru.

@DocOnChainX I concur, Doctoor

That’s why we’re Delusional to think a small group of decentralized honest actors can exit and build a better system

[Derek @DerekDocuments]

Real safety is impossible without privacy.

zcash:native and other privacy-focused blockchains are paramount for both protection and Liberty in a digital economy.

[Derek @DerekDocuments]

Why do we fall?

So we can learn to pick ourselves up.

Resilience is key to growth 🔑

🫵You’re doing such a good job.

Really. Web 3 stays open because of you.

You keep the timeline moving. You quote-tweet a screenshot of a chart you didn’t read. You hit repost on a thread that says nothing except “this is huge” and a blurry logo. You drop “gm” under a project that launched last Tuesday and already has three different names.

That is the work. That is the product. Attention.👏

The people who know how to extract are not confused. They are not “building.” They are watching you argue in the replies about whether this one is “different.” (Spoiler: It's not)

They are watching you ape because a guy with a frog PFP said “don’t fade this.” They are watching the volume spike for 19 minutes and then they leave.

You call it community. It's really a waiting room with a buy button.

It is the whole design. Something looks like it is moving, so you move. You do not check the contract. You do not look at who can mint. You do not ask why the “team” only posts at 2 a.m. with the same three buzzwords.

You just feel late. Late is the exploit. Late makes you pay the exit liquidity tax with a smile.

Then it rugs. Of course it rugs. The chart looks like every other chart that rugged last month. Same candle. Same Telegram. Same “we’re locking liquidity soon.” You still bought it. Then you post the loss like it is content. Then you do it again.

That is the loop. Repost a nothing. Feel urgency. Spend on the obvious trap. Generate the screenshot. Repeat.

Keep going. The extractors need the noise. They need the people who treat a timeline like a slot machine and a whitepaper like a vibe. They need you to stay just informed enough to click, and just proud enough to pretend this is participation.

You’re Delusional. Congratulations.

“You quote-tweet a screenshot of a chart you didn’t read. You hit repost on a thread that says nothing except “this is huge” and a blurry logo.”

A couple weeks ago I decided when someone RPs a post just based on the account—not reading or caring what it says—it’s called a 𝑆𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑡.

This and everything Doc lays out play a significant role in why rug pulls still happen so often—by the same types of people. Hell, the same few people habitually in some cases.

If bad behavior gets rewarded, it will continue and escalate.

Be considerate to provide real value and therefore have truly earned compensation.
[I also think Grok will be involved in rewarding truth-maximizing creators within a year.]

Slingshots here lead to “Grift n Lift,” not “Shake n Bake”; this is a PSA calling for all to refrain. Slingshots often snapback in one’s own face, too.

TL;DR Do Better Dudes 🤙🧱❤️‍🔥

Inspired by @DocOnChainX

Space will start with reading Eric Hughes’ seminal tech-Liberty text, A Cypherpunk’s Manifesto (1993)

The rest of the hour is open for discussion on this treatise 🤝🧱

If you’re around and interested in learning or sharing about this topic, pull up :)

Haters prayin’ and pray on my downfall,

But every time I hit the ground I bounce up like roundball,

Now I don’t wanna have to rek Space ball,

Don’t wanna have to cock back a 4 ethereum:native bar,

Look, scrapper, I got fam to look after,

Reminder:

“It’s for your safety” is the most insidiously lethal phrase you’ll hear from corporatists and government officials.

Adam here explicitly states regulation costs his company—including and especially the stockholders he’s claiming to care so much about—𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫.

Does all this capital incinerated for red-tape and power-hungry middlemen stop daily scams in the Boomer market?

Of course not.

The primary reason CEOs post hogwash like this is to pander to these takers who hold the makers up for tribute—at gunpoint—every year. A don needs his taste.

Rather than rebel against innovation-strangling, Adam here is in essence pleading for these tyrants to maybe give him an attaboy and pat on the head at the end of AMC’s fiscal year.

To quote Kobe, “Soft.”

Don’t expect any kind of game-changing moves at $AMC while this boot-licking joker is at the helm.
