Guys, I know you love character design just as much as me, so please treat yourself and have a look at @Lunareth 's adoptables on Vgen, they are so gorgeous. (She's not using X much, but just... look at them 🤌) https://t.co/GcM3xbhuvE
@itsjustmarky@Liltall_Liltall Yes, I agree. But that's not what's being discussed. The contract from 2013 is the old setup where they hid the yearly commitment, then dumped the full fee when people tried to cancel.
@itsjustmarky@Liltall_Liltall The problem is people entered into the 1-year not knowing it was a 1-year, because they hid that. Then got hit with the full year of fees when trying to cancel. These are not separate issues.
@itsjustmarky@Liltall_Liltall You're objectively wrong. They got sued and found guilty of
- Obfuscating cancellation terms.
- Hidden fees.
- Deceptive/dark patterns used to consciously make it unclear what the terms were.
Back then, they hid that you were entering into a yearly subscription.
@itsjustmarky@Liltall_Liltall You don't have to defend them, they've literally lost and settled for 150 million in court over this. You can't hide terms like that away or obfuscate them, like they used to.
@drgoatofficial@DomWitczak@itsjustmarky@Liltall_Liltall It didn't used to be stated as a yearly plan. That's the whole issue. They've since changed that as they've had to settle for $150 million in court due to these and similar practices.
