Bengaluru-based Zephyra Dynamics is building a future where the sky is not a limit, but a highway for daily life.
Founded in 2025, the startup is in the research and development of electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOLs), a new generation of electric aviation platforms designed to revolutionise short-haul travel in sprawling cities.
A native of Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, 21-year-old aerospace engineer Sadiq Ali Mir grew a passion for flight as a child that was honed while studying aerospace studies at RV College of Engineering.
It was here, during collaborations with fellow students and mentors, that his fascination with electric aircraft and future mobility systems took shape.
After graduation, what had once been a student ‑driven design initiative blossomed into a full entrepreneurial venture.
Sadiq moved beyond campus projects to formally launch Zephyra Dynamics, supported by mentors from his alma mater, including Dr Promio Charles F and Dr Ravindra S. Kulkarni, who continue to advise the company’s technical roadmap.
The young entrepreneur is also a Titans Space Astronaut Candidate for June 2030.
The centrepiece of Zephyra Dynamics’ efforts is its inaugural aircraft concept, the Kestrel X2.
Announced with much excitement across industry forums and social platforms, the Kestrel X2 is envisioned as a single‑passenger, fully autonomous eVTOL platform engineered to offer urban commuters a new, emission‑free way to traverse distances unreachable by car in the same time.
It promises a flight time of ~25 minutes and an urban range of roughly 35 km—enough to easily bridge the gap between crowded city centres and suburban zones without congestion or long commutes.
What sets Kestrel X2 apart is its focus on autonomy and sustainability.
Though still in its early stages, Zephyra Dynamics is aiming to ease congestion, reduce emissions, and add a new layer of mobility above densely packed roads.
