The story of Paolo Sarullo, a 24-year-old Italian boy.
One evening, Paolo was walking home with a friend, pushing his electric scooter by hand when they were suddenly surrounded by four North African attackers, a detail that most Italian media outlets chose to omit, with only a handful reporting it.
The group tried to steal his scooter.
Paolo refused.
One of the attackers responded with a brutal punch to the face. Paolo crashed to the ground, smashing his head on the pavement. He began bleeding heavily and convulsing as the attackers fled the scene. His friend immediately called for help.
The entire attack was captured on surveillance cameras.
After spending three months fighting for his life and enduring two extremely delicate 15-hour surgeries, Paolo finally opened his eyes.
He survived.
But the damage was irreversible.
Today, Paolo is permanently paralyzed and can communicate only through eye movements.
All four attackers were identified and brought to trial.
The man who threw the punch that changed Paolo’s life forever was sentenced to only six years in prison.
The other members of the group were also convicted, receiving sentences that included only three years and six months in prison, while another was sentenced to only eight months for failing to provide assistance after the attack.
Suizidale Empathie.
WNBA suspends Alyssa Thomas for ONE game after fist to the throat of Caitlin Clark.
It's not enough. These people keep attacking Caitlin and the WNBA doesn't do anything about it. This is assault. She should be charged and suspended permanently. IMO. What do y'all think?
